It's one thing to say what you do. It's completely another to say where and how you do it.
If you read my original post I did say "I agree with some others about the dangers of sharing valuable information".
And that goes for anything that will help other people understand how to get an edge. Even this site. OK, sure, some things are more specific than others but overall they come under the same classification and they do damage to the overall edge, some short term and some over a longer term. What I find difficult to take are those who complain about others giving away information when they themselves have been doing the same. And making money from it. That's hypocritical.
You have to be joking. You equate writing books on blackjack -- should I quote all the highly respected authors? -- with revealing information on where to find a hole card game, or a dealer tell, or a special promotion or side bet that can be exploited? What's wrong with you? If you can't see the difference between the two, and you've been playing for 40 years, that's a pretty sad commentary on your overall knowledge of the game.
Don
The hundreds, possibly low thousands of dollars that Don has made from book sale royalties pales to the amount I’ve made, as well as many others, off of Don. Those comments mirror my thoughts for a select group of other blackjack authors.
I simply don't believe that Don invested his efforts on blackjack research to earn dollars - I kinda sorta believe he could buy and sell most of us quite easily.
Never underestimate the average one book per day that I sell, in good times or bad. Those royalty dollars really roll in! Clearly, it was my only motivation for writing the book and instantly disqualifies me from making any comments about anyone who might be disclosing sensitive information. See the impeccable logic?
Don
I'm not going to draw a diagram for you Don and others but I'll give you a metaphor so you may be able to grasp the reality.
In virology, virus's can be considered to be on a continuum from highly contagious but with a low mortality rate to relatively uncontagious but with a high mortality rate. Compare COVID-19 to Ebola. Covid is highly contagious but has a mortality rate of around 0.1% whereas Ebola is much less contagious yet has around a 50% mortality rate. Which virus has killed more people ? COVID-19, with around 1.2 million dead so far and Ebola, tens of thousands.
Writers, explaining to a wide audience how to beat blackjack are like COVID-19 and our OP is like Ebola.
Geddit ?
A long pseudo-analogy but you remain wrong.
No respectable BJ player will come to an open board and give away for everyone to know (players and casinos) sensitive and specific game information. We don't care if it's "high mortality rate to only a few". You may think otherwise, it's not our business, but you remain an amateur with a very amateurish view of the "real game". You played all around the world? You are a living proof that anyone can have money and a great traveling life, but your Blackjack IQ is close to non-existent.
We're not talking about a virus, we are talking about common sense in the Blackjack field.
