Bosox, since I obviously can't say anything to convince you that I have more experience than, " just purchased and read Dons book, and learned a counting system". One thing I find odd, in the beginning you were saying ZeeBabar was right and I should be getting experience in the casino to learn what is tolerated etc......but in your post above you ask Don if someone is ready after only reading the book, and just learning a counting system, which sounds like you don't think I am ready. So should I be getting experience, (when possible) or is there some reason you think I'm not ready? Something I should learn?
Seriously Don, you aren't joking when you say BJA3 isn't for beginners....I showed my husband a few pages in chapter 8, and he looked at me like I had 5 heads! I took your advice and read it slowly instead of trying to read it in one night, thank you for not calling me stupid, for even thinking I could read it one night. I do read fast, but this is not a book to read in one night, I can be honest and say I was intimidated when I started, but I kept going, and I've definitely gone back to re-read whole chapters many times, and I still have more to re-read, probably a few times over, before I can understand fully, but I like the challenge and I love the book. Thank you so much Don.
Not all of my conversation in the thread with Don was involving you. I never once acknowledged ZeeBabar in the thread or anything he said, I gave my own opinions. Pertaining to how much skill that you have, I have absolutely no idea, how would I know? I will now say this being a woman card counter has its advantages as there are much fewer of them around, and you may get a little more time played, and I do wish you success in the future.
I also want you to know that before today, in relation to the threads I've read, I actually told my husband that if I was ever able to meet someone from this forum, I wanted to meet Bosox.( I know I'll never get to meet Don!!) First, I love the name, I also thought you gave people thoughtful answers, that you tried to be helpful. I guess I didn't expect you to act like one of those people Don was telling me about. I'm gonna chalk it up to the pandemic being so scary, frustrating, etc.....???
Then you should read it again.....half your posts were directed to me, and almost all of your posts are either directly speaking to me, questioning Don about something pertaining to me, or something I said (it's kind of obvious).... Also, I'm sorry, Obviously I haven't been around long enough to see the humor in that...yet....
In my above quote is in reference strictly to book skills, learning a card counting system, deviations which you very well may be very good at. The following could possibly be causing some of our difference. Pertaining to actual casino playing time experience that you have I can only go by what you already told us in post #1. Now if you want to think that puts yourself in the same category as say Stanford Wong go right ahead. If you read the thread correctly you would see that I did not agree with ZeeBabar's position of learning the book as you go along. I consider that part of it a requirement. If there has been any rudeness it has been started by you.

I definitely don't think I ever even alluded to me being close to being in the same category as Stanford Wong, or any of the greats! I definitely am not! I did grow up playing cards so I'm comfortable with them, I can play almost any card game, whether it's Cribbage, Gin, poker, etc....I don't get nervous at the tables, even though I am usually the only female at the table, (not always) and guys always seem to think they're better poker players, right up until I start taking pots from them!
I just realized it probably doesn't matter what I reply......I am sorry if you really think I was rude, as that was never my intention! Here on out, I will observe only!
