Normal betting patterns by a card counter are often looked upon by these misfits as some idiot going on tilt and steaming. When the times that it goes well for us during those shoes the misfit thinks this idiot just left a hot table and is too stupid to realize what he just did, fortunately for me I will quickly grab his seat. When they see one of us take a wallop in the middle of a high count they will often interject their brilliant logic along the lines that the dealer is hot now and that patience is a virtue. All the while they themselves "for the most part are either" is more than likely playing with ultra-small bankrolls with money they have no business gambling with or others that have TEMPORARILY more money than brains. The last thing that I want is for these morons that support us to think that their advice is bringing us good fortune. ZeeBabar, when you are talking with these people and you tell them about your other hobby sports cars and how many that you have traded over the years do you get sick of them asking you how the hell can you afford one in the first place?
Well said! But there may be a few who are AP players too hard too detect. Maybe BJ is just a cover for them. There maybe others who are doing their AP work.

Freightman, can’t you do both...socialize with people in a casino and your family and friends? Why do you see these as being mutually exclusive? Who knows you might learn something from them. As far as calling everybody a “social misfits” who go to casinos and play for fun, most are there for entertainment. They aren’t there to “spank the house.”

Do you see people like Michael Jordon, Charles Barkley, Kerry Packer (used to be the wealthiest man in Australia), and the other big time gamblers as “social misfits”? They’ve lost millions in casinos playing like ploppies, but they’ve still contributed a lot to society. If these are the people you’re calling “social misfits”, I want to be more like a “social misfit.”

I’ve got to know a variety of people at my local casinos and found them interesting. If you want to typecast and judge all people who don’t play with an advantage go ahead. That probably makes you feel superior to these people. As for me, I enjoy interacting with these people. For me going to a casino is more than just about winning money.

Is it to your advantage for ploppies to see you playing and decide to join your table because they like you, or decide to find another table because they don't like you?

Three, of course, you are correct in your thinking but Dbs will likely say that he prefers the interaction and camaraderie of others.

Friends with ploppies? You cant be serious.
Unfortunately, im known to carry a lot of money. Just need to misjudge someone or have them tell their friends where I live. No thanks.

Same reason not t9 get rated. Can’t wait for some critter to show up at my door to stake them in a poker game because they tapped out.

It's hard for the pros to understand that there can be multiple reasons for being in a casino. From their delusional perspective, anyone in a casino for any other reason is an idiot or a "social misfit".

Many others a casino is for fun, for social engagement. To some, especially outside Law Vegas, a casino is more like the tavern like in "Cheers".

As a recreational player, I have multiple goals, one is to make a bit of $$$, one is to pass time with good people. Often, I can do both.

Freighter, what the hell is wrong with you? You were not aware that if you wanted to socialize and meet good people that the local casino gives you the perfect opportunity. For single people, this could also end up in marriage.

I confess. I’m not at the casino to socialize. Further, my current marriage contract (ketubah) does not allow for multiple wives. Mind you, I suppose I could break the monogamy of the situation.

    Can you expand upon this?

My first instinct was to try and improve the playing efficiency of RPC with the use of a side count. I'm confident that I could manage one or even 2 side counts (in a pitch game) however I'm totally in the dark as to how the information can be used to significantly improve playing efficiency.

I'm not aware of anything published specifically on this subject but would be very appreciative if someone could point me in the right direction!

Well I think what I want for the games I'm playing is an ace neutral count that has a high PE and IC rating. I can then use the ASC purely for improving the B.C.

At the end of the day the hassle of learning a new count for me seems no greater than the hassle of trying to figure out how in the hell i could use side counting to improve the PE of the RPC.

I guess Hi Opt II is the most obvious candidate for what I'm looking for. Although I'm also intrigued by the Victor Advanced Point Count but unfortunately I don't believe there's anything solid published about that save for a couple of blog posts floating around on the internet.

Good point Bosox! This is where Bret Beilema, former head football coach at Wisconsin and Arkansas met his wife. Playing blackjack at a casino in Vegas. He even says he out kicked his coverage with her and if you’ve seen a picture of her and him you’d agree. She’s really hot and he’s not, but he makes a lot of money. Btw, he’s now an assistant coach with the New England Patriots.

Moral of the story: If you want to find a good looking hot wife go to a casino and play blackjack. That’s definitely called taking advantage play to another level.
