While many comments on the suject factors. The object matter is that the casino would back you off if you are really good at it.
but those are the ones that writes about it . i am certain that there are some that did not go this route. Actually , reading the words again it almost had to be true cause you need to have all your living expenses taken care of before you can play. I would think the other situations are not as glamourous.

" My son was 17. He finally beat the old man in the 440. It was like hearing a freight train come up from behind me. But that was an significant moment. I was very proud of him yet realized I couldn't do what I once could do. Sort of a good news bad news thing. You will have many moments like this thereafter. I'm sorry but your time will be wasted sitting at a blackjack table building the necessary EV to sustain you later in life."
Same thing with my son, except it was chess. I never ever let him win. So, when he did beat me, he knew he had deserved it. A whoop and a holler - he was excited. Builds character, and is a large if what he is today. Good life lessons for your kids.
Sir Roger Bannister died [3/3/18] at age 88
In 1954 he became the first person to run a
sub-4 minute mile (3:59.4)
He was much more proud of his
accomplishments as a neurologist.
His record has been broken 13 times.
The current record for a mile was set in 1999.
The 4 minute barrier, at the time, was considered impossible to overcome.
From a google search
The IAAF is the official body which oversees the records. Hicham El Guerrouj is the current men's record holder with his time of 3:43.13, while Svetlana Masterkova has the women's record of 4:12.56. Since 1976, the mile has been the only non-metric distance recognized by the IAAF for record purposes.
Amazing.
Talk about hijacking threads and finding excuses to slip in about how great an athlete or parent the great AP's are here. Yet they blast someone for asking if someone should split a pair of 9's against a 9 or for repeating a BJ question asked before.
Not many Tommy Hylands in the world; who got to do it their own way mostly AND play golf. If there was one to aspire to in this arena, he was/is it. Not that he didn't have any set backs through the years. Just think it's a much different game than it was during that time. Never knew that I had played through the Golden Years of Blackjack and didn't realize it at the time. Seems like teams are only way to make it a profession, unless your income needs are very, very low.

Happy now dick breath? You missed the point. Doesnt surprise me.
Not like we haven't read your endless Las Vegas trip crap and choked on your lifestyle and belief system.
O brother. What a phony! Of course you gained all this knowledge in just 3 years. You get kicked out of your own city and claim to get 86ed twice a week. You get to Vegas maybe 3 times a year for 2 to 3 days. Yet you claim to leave your family and your business for weeks at a time.
Who the hell are you to be giving advice? Yet it all just continues to prosper. Who the hell are you Barrry Seal?

Or, the phrase "poo nuggets of irrelevance" would more properly align the conceptual aspect.
I do thank Flash for his usual excellence of verbal contortion and gymnastics. The greatest form of flattery is imitation, and I must confess that some of his "nuggets" have found their way into my repertoire.
