I am almost entirely certain that this observation of even money for blackjack is in error. NJ casinos can only offer games that are approved by the commission, and last time I checked, only 3:2 and 6:5 were permissible variations of blackjack.

Personally in my opinion, 6:5 was never approved for shoe games and is supposed to be reserved for pitch only, however during the recent recodification, the variation of pitch blackjack having 1-2 decks and the option of a 6:5 payout was suddenly identified as the "6:5 variation" instead of the "dealt from the hand variation"

So now the regulations simply allow for the casino to pay blackjack at 6:5 for the 6:5 variation instead of the dealt from the hand variation. It was this simple error that now allows the casino the simple option of declaring any table as a 3:2 or "6 to 5 variation"

All that being said, even money option is not approved for blackjack so the op must have observed a different game.

And so he owes the moderator. But poker is the best game if you can find a zero rake table-which I have accomplished.

Harrah's has provided the shittiest blackjack game in AC for years. Nothing would surprise me about them. Years back, when Harrah's started buying out other casinos in AC, the first thing they did in Caesars was to make the blackjack game there just as shitty as it was at Harrah's! Harrah's is the king of shitty, the place to go if you like seeing an autoshuffler in the hi limit room, the place to go if you like getting gouged. Out on the floor everything is 8D out of an autoshuffler. Pen sucks, rules suck... Harrah's has been a big help in making virtually anywhere a better place to play blackjack than Atlantic City. Skip Harrah's AC if you're looking for a reasonably playable blackjack game.

Even money would be perfect cover, if there's a hole card opportunity, or good pen and a countable $100 sidebet on a nickel table.

My hazy understanding is that the NJCCC was disbanded a few years ago and a
branch of the NJ State Police had assumed certain responsibilities for governing
the casino games in A C.

My (actual) impression has been that NJ has been operating without a commission.

Must be a "fake news" article....
Luck is nothing more than probability taken personally!
