In my yout', I had an outstanding arrest warrant for not paying traffic tickets.
We have a no politics rule. But, we can certainly discuss actions that directly affect APs. Just don't bring partisan politics into the discussion.

That limits the extent of their search, good catch Boz.
The title "It's getting closer and closer to search at will" implies politics, as laws and precedent have to establish the eventual reality you hint at. Also, that eventual reality would be completely against the Constitution of the United States of America, so that's also a little political. I wasn't attempting to be farcical or necessarily trite, I was pointing out that a lot of the topics we talk about are, BY NATURE, POLITICAL.
This is why Norm's clarification above is important, because we can and MUST talk politics, but partisan politics and the politics of hate and division are the politics that should be eschewed.
I have a degree in political philosophy. I had to bring up what I considered a quite unclear rule in this forum.
The point is that there have been numerous confiscations of property based upon suspicious suspicions. This is a danger to APs as APs tend to carry cash. DWC (driving with cash) should not be grounds for anything. And, I smelled something suspicious, shouldn't be cause to find the cash. The OP is pointing to a slippery slope.

You can be as worried about it as you want. I'd have concerns if I was crossing a border. But if you think your chances are HIGHER of having it seized by cops than getting robbed, I just shake my head and wonder why you're carrying around the money in the first place. APs must drunk drive a lot and wear T-Shirts that say F#%# the Police.
I think I've been pulled over once in the last 10 years. I had a few grand on me. The cop didn't ask how much money I had. I still remember the pizza guy who shortchanged me $1 on a $100. That wasn't robbery so much as larceny. I got $3 off my next pizza.

No, seriously. I never understood why carrying around lots of money made any sense at all. Keep it in a bank. The standard answer I always got was..."You never want to run out of money on a plus count." And I always thought, well that's dumb. First of all, if you've already lost 5K, you're having a bad day, time to go home. Second of all, your EV is like what, $50? So you have to carry around 100K in secret compartments in your shoes to make sure you don't lose $50? Yeah, if a robber ever got a lead on you, your BR is history.
