You are being too paranoid....for spreading $5 to $10! You need to relax! If you are really getting heat for this, then stop staring at the cards, stop being so pensive. You need to practice at home more. You should be glancing at the cards casually and making decisions like a 'gambler'.

Assuming you are not mouthing the count or doing something wildly stupid, the following things are NOT necessarily heat. These are things that happen in the casino everyday with or without card counters:
    1. Pit boss talking at the phone
    2. Pit boss logs your buy ins and re-buys
    3. Pit boss counts up your chips from time to time
    4. Pit boss watches your play
    5. Multiple pit bosses come and go and talk with each other
    6. Dealers change
    7. Some dealers will cut deep one round and then cut shallow another round (assuming there is no notch)
    8. Security guard or random gambler casually watching the game behind you
    9. Dealer or another player asks if you are counting (this is the scariest one)

I was a little dense and continued to play and he only cut 3/4 a deck off instead of the usual 1.5, but continued to make a couple more play comments that weren't so obvious(like asking if I wanted to double down on my 8), so I'm not sure what to think. I'm a little nervous to go back there for a bit. How long do y'all think I should wait before returning? They all know me by name.
This dealer was your ally. He was helping you have an opportunity to make money. I hope you tipped him. He may not always be your ally but for now all he did was help give you better conditions and probably good playing advice which is not at all the norm with dealers. You assume he is the enemy but the truth is he works for the casino AND the tippers. That is where his pay comes from. He is loyal to those that help him earn. He gave you great pen, helped point out playing opportunities you were probably missing and did everything he could to increase your edge. Why do you see him as a threat? Play his game and he is an ally. It can be the difference between good and bad pen, checks plays calls often and at a loud voice or less often and at a whisper, as well as many other things that help you along your way.

Ok. Thanks =). Glad I was just paranoid. Makes sense. Yes, I was tipping him some. Thank you guys so much.

I'm going to Vegas next week =D. First time going since I became an adult. A friend and I are splitting gas and we have a free room comp, so it's almost like going there for free. I'm not ready yet to do any serious counting, but it's hard to pass up a nearly free trip! I'm excited I'll play some and do lots of back counting.

Aaahhh...those were the days. If I had picked up card counting at your age, I'd have more stories to tell than Frank Scoblete! Have fun in Vegas. Give us a trip report when you get back.......

Never play rated .They will try to stop you at the cage for ID once they got your chips if they suspect you for counting.Even a 1-4 spread can get you back off . it is very sweaty in LV(strip) in many places. Practice a lot and have an exit plan ,such as get a friend to cash out chips on the next day . Don't count at the place you are staying. Be smart and well planned .

He will be asked for ID at the tables and the cage since he appears young, not because he is counting. Don't worry about this, unless you have heat. You will know when you have heat.

Anyone got the Full KO indexes? I am getting conflicting information. On Casino Vertie the index plays are much different than that of the KO blackjack book.
    Current stats.
    Ive logged 28 hours
RoR isn't a big deal cause my BR is replenish able
    Currently up 4930$
Logged 19hrs of 6 deck play Wonging in and out and also playing straight though the shoe with a bet spread of 1-12(decent rules)
9 hours logged of DD play about 75% pen and the Turning stone be spread 1-10(of which got me Barred Twice)
Again just wanting to make sure I have the right charts if anyone could point me in the right direction because I have several sights to get the I18 plays(preferably id like all the index plays) yet they read differently

Ok, here goes! Headed to Vegas. I decided to switch to Zen after realizing how hard AO2 is. Sadly I won't be able to use Zen this trip. Red 7 it will be, with an extremely small trip bank roll. I plan to do more walking around the strip than I do playing, unless I get extremely lucky.

As a newbie, you probably imagine that Las Vegas is a paradise.
Keep your expectations low to keep your disappointment in check.

Your best bet is the $5 DD games at the Station Casinos.
I suggest Palace Station. Learn to play a H17 DD game.
Do not spread beyond $5 to $25 You may "break even."

I second this very good advice, especially with an 'extremely small' bankroll. An 'extremely small' bankroll can be a dangerous thing. Definitely look for red chip Station casino DD's. Palace is close to the strip so that is why Flash is recommending it. Depending on where you are staying, look up Station Casinos locations as they virtually all have $5 DD. The crappier the property, the lower the minimum. If you want to take a "shot" you could spread 5-2x50 at a table with one or two people. Speaking to other red chippers at DD, Station is usually very tolerant of red chip play.

Couldn't find any decent games under 25$ min on the strip. Had fun seeing all the lights and people watching. I went downtown and found some 5$ 6D 3:2 games. I found some 5$ DD games, but I don't have BS memorized for DD. I broke even. It was fun. I couldn't keep the count to save my life . After practicing Zen for a week or so and then trying to go back to Red 7 it was difficult. I was also very tired, which I'm sure didn't help. Every place I inquired was either sold out or cost more than I was willing to pay for a room. The place I was supposed to get a room comp said they wouldn't honour my ticket, but i could stay there for 300$ a night. Hahaha, no. With no place to stay, I just decided to play for a little and then drive home. This was my first time playing without a shuffle machine. I found shuffle tracking exceedingly easy, lol. I'll have to test myself for real, because it may have just been luck, but it seemed like I was always within a card of two. There was this one kinda obnoxious counter at one of the tables I was playing. As the high cards were coming out his bet decreased, but mine stayed up because I knew the section was rich in high cards. When that section was over, I conveniently left to go eat dinner, leaving him with a huge slug of low cards, hehehe.

Gas cost me 20$ and food was 25$. Not too terrible of a trip.
