i will now add to that; as you do not understand, or my reply was poor.

Once you have "exposed" your spread - you are well-advised to leave the "scene of the crime"

That means this: Let's say you spread 12-1 BUT you have played 4 shoes before going to 8-1.

    You have NOT "exposed" your
bet spread yet, have you ? You may continue if you like.
Why does the size of your spread make a difference? If you're moving your bet with the count, you're moving your bet with the count, correct?
I'm a little confused, I want to make sure I understand this correctly so I don't get tossed out some where.
Basically what I'm getting is only play two shoes at a time?

Because the casino is protecting itself from threats not counters. Not every counter is a threat. They make a boatload of money off most counters. Very few of those that count are a threat.

Yea I get that but if they are evaluating your play to see if you're counting, if you're increasing your bet 5 dollars every time the count goes up +1 vs increasing your bet $500 dollars when it goes up +1, its still the same. They can tell you're adjusting your bets according to the count... so what does the size of your spread have to do with it?

The one guy will cost the casino $500 on a good day and the other guy will cost the casino $50000 on a good day. It really isn't that hard to see the difference. You can pay a bunch of guys to watch out for any counter and catch those that will cost you $1000 in a year if they are lucky enough not to bust out their measly $5000 BR. Or you can not sweat the small stuff and catch the guy that will hit you up for hundreds of thousands of dollars in a year or a few weeks. I know when I am at the beach getting molested by horse flies I could care less about the gnats. I just want to kill the horseflies. When there are no horseflies then I MIGHT notice the gnats. It is the same thing. Just casinos showing despite most indications they do show common sense on occasion. Of course some stupid casinos spend hundreds of thousands on protection to save that $50,000 that all those low level counters added together would win. That is more of the idiotic stuff we have come to expect from casinos. Why do you tink the casinos are losing money so quickly.

So they only evaluate 3 shoes of high rollers only? I can make it clear as day I'm counting and make $100 dollar bets every time the count hits +6 and have nothing to worry about? I understand they would be less concerned with lower limit players but if they consistently have a player beating them they may look into them, no? Or even if a player is on a heater winning quite a bit would they not become interested and start evaluating their play? I would prefer to be on the safe side, that is why I'm curious what he means about his 2 out 3 shoes thing. To be completely safe would it be best to only play two shoes then move to another table or leave all together?

Tat depends on the casino. The smart ones will wait until you have won long enough to deem a low level counter a threat. Many are not smart casinos. It is practically an oxymoron.

Heaters are for ploppies and shouldn't worry a casino. Nobody said they wouldn't evaluate your play. They won't necessarily back you off. They know most low level counters will lose their whole BR before making it into a decent one. Once you have a decent BR and bet at levels that are higher they may immediately back you off.

That is a somewhat arbitrary figure representing enough of a sample of your play to make an evaluation. If you play 3 negative shoes it isn't going to tell them much. Flash clarified this in this thread I think. He said once you show your full spread it is time to leave. That can happen in one shoe. It may take hours.

Can you explain to me what it means to show your full spread? 1 unit your min-12max. wouldn't showing your full spread be making one max bet of 12? so leave after one max bet? I must be missing something here.

I believe I am a customer of the casino. The casino is in the gaming or gambling business. I gamble. I just do so, thinking a little bit, playing a strategy that gives me a slight, completely legal, advantage as opposed to a slight disadvantage that most players play with.

I also at times provide a service for the casinos of opening tables. We all know a dealer can be standing there by himself for 30 minutes, but as soon as one player sits down, the table fills up. I do this a lot, hoping to play heads up but in a matter of 2 or 3 rounds not doing so. It wasn't that long ago that casinos used to employ and pay people (shills) to do just this. So my presence is benefiting them.

In addition, players keep the dealer employed. Whether the player is winning or losing is irrelevant. My presence contributes to people being employed.

In short, I am a customer of the casinos. Maybe not the drunk stupid people they target and would like to have as their customers, but I am a customer.
I still have to disagree. In all reality, you are a customer of the dealer. The dealer services your bets and is ultimately responsible for performing this job with the speed and efficiency that you desire. The casino merely hosts the table, ensures game integrity, and provides liquidity for the transactions taking place. The casino itself does not contribute to your win rate, and you being a negative expectation contribute nothing to theirs.

You seem to miss many things. I hope you are still in training and not playing in the casinos before you are ready. You don't leave at an advantage but you leave before you have to make your waiting bet after you show your top bet. People have complained that I am too wordy in my responses as I have always tried to be thorough so someone that doesn't know can understand. I have tried hard to post short concise posts to appease those that were complaining. You haven't shown them your top bet until you go down in bet size. They don't know what your top bet is so until you lower your bet how could they know it is your top bet.

I told you KJ is a keep it simple guy. Their edges are too small to allow tipping. I bet he doesn't think the restaurants should pay their waitresses more so he doesn't have to tip. It is all rationalization.

You appear to be new to this. In all reality, from the casino perspective, you are a commodity to be strip mined. The ultimate goal is to empty your wallet. This is unlike other business ventures which gear their marketing to cultivating their customers.

To tip or not to tip, and if so, how much, is a constant debate. Let me know your bet levels, and how much your tipping, and I, or someone, will give you an idea of effect on your expected value.

Will they factor in the advantages you get from tipping that get you orders of magnitude more than you tip if you do it right.
