So you have 20k? Anyway a 8-1 spread with the strategy you use is not going to get it done but you still have enough to beat quarter games if the rules are decent.
Back count and come in at +2 playing 2 hands of 50 chipping up to 2x150 at +5. Drop to 1 hand of table min if count drops and leave the table completely at -1. Unless it's near the end of the shoe, find another fresh shuffle at another table, there is no reason to go back to the same table, that is just a waste of time when you could be counting more cards and generating more expectation. If anybody asks just tell the truth that you "didn't feel lucky at that table anymore". Another thing you can do in a large casino is have your spot saved, go to another pit and count down another shoe. If that shoe looks promising you come in and play there, if not you go back to your old spot when it hits the shuffle.
If back counting isn't your thing or you are playing at a no mid shoe casino then just start with 1 hand of table min, spreading to a max bet of 2x150, and leave the table at -1. Yes, this will involve playing only 2-3 hands some shoes, live with it. You only have 20k, you can't afford to give the casino an edge, and nobody gives a shit about a player with a max bet of $300 unless you play really small time casinos anyway.
Let me put it another way, 100 max bets (or 67 times a 2xMax bet) is plenty if the caisno allows mid shoe entry and you avoid betting when the casino has the edge. The key is to always be doing one of two things in a casino - counting cards or looking for a fresh shoe. Oh, and number three is looking for dealers that flash the hole card. LOL.
