jblaze: standard deviation question (poker)
A little out of the realm of BJ...
I've been playing SNG single table games (9 players, 1st place gets 50%, 2nd 30%, 3rd 20%). I can calculate my expected return on each game pretty easily. My question is, how many games do I have to play to know this is my 'real' win rate within, say, +/- 10%?
This would be pretty useful so I can compare, more accurately, my rin rates at different buy-in levels.
Lastly, there doesn't seem to be much (good) info out there on calculating standard deviation for such tournaments. I know it will vary according to your win rate. Does anyone have a good link or tell me how to figure this out?! Thanks.

WRX: These are not easy questions
I highly recommend The Mathematics of Poker, by Chen and Ankenman, which gives these questions a thorough treatment.
