Exploring REKO and HiLo Card Counting Systems: Conversion and Efficiency

    Hello fellow Card Counters,
I recently came across the REKO (Ridiculously Easy K-O) system and have grown fond of its simplicity, particularly the absence of the true count conversion. I have traditionally played with the HiLo method and have become accustomed to its application in standard Blackjack games. Is there a way to convert the REKO score to the HiLo score( or HiLo true count ) ?
Additionally, I'm curious about which of these models provides the highest Expected Value (EV) relative to complexity. Furthermore, I'm interested in knowing which counting model is more universally applicable.
Any ideas and suggestions on this topic would be greatly appreciated!

I started with HI-LO but it was inadequate for my situation largely because there is no discard tray to determine decks remaining as well as being affected by no of players. I had to create another means to get that info. REKO fit my situation much better, I can still deck estimate in order to wong out. EV is highly dependent upon conditions. You can sim a game and then play it and discover the dealer is slow as hell or other players slow down the game so much that your ev suffers. Then there's the heat factor. I generally do not have to worry about heat since, currently, none of the places I play believe their game is beatable (though they seem to be suspicious). My understanding is that the watchers generally use HI-LO to see if you are a card counter. REKO will definitely make those persons think you are a long term loser. I believe there is a REKO-F that takes into account a TC conversion but I have not looked into it. MOst importantly, IMO, there is less mental work to do which means less potential for mistakes which probably accounts for most lost EV for new-ish players.

    Sure!
But using more advanced counts enhances your EV by 5-10%(Major increase keeping in mind that playing with 40 deviations instead of 20 deviations only increase your EV by 4%)

I'll take your word on the amount your EV increases but point out again, that if you make more mistakes due to the advanced count (which is more likely) you'll cut your EV. I've had one deviation mistake cost me a day's EV (massive AV). I'll keep it simple. :-D

HiLo and REKO have different sweet spots in shoe depth. That is, at some depths HiLo is better and other depths REKO is better. The parts of the shoe where REKO is inferior are the early and late parts of the shoe. But there are not that many good counts in the early part and we rarely get to play the late part these days.
