Where does the UK Covid-19 fatality rate come into it? My comment relates to the allegation from SammyBoy (posting one above) of the police interpreting the law as they see fit and making arrests off of the back of it.

I don't either...Unless something is devised where the dealer nor players ever touch the money, chips or cards ?
I see electronic play and betting becoming a very possible option. And I guess not all bad for APs?
Although I guess we can forget about ratholing.
Or maybe things will go back to normal...eventually.

They will, they have for thousands of years, albiet with some minor changes. Some of the change I like, I think curbside delivery is great.

Well, Macau casinos reopened. The revenue dropped 97% based on year to year comparison. And April 2020 is the worst month in their record book.

theyve had electronic video BJ machines in the venetian for years. and they used to have the good type that paid 3-2 and didnt shuffle every hand with a $5 minimum. i doubt they still do, most of the good machines are gone. ellis island had a great video BJ machine and promotion once. i tried to suggest a lot of casinos without table games now buy and install a virtual dealer aruze gaming video bj machine because its the only kind paying 3-2 which doesnt reshuffle the deck every hand, and they also need to make sure u get comps on your card for playing. a lot of places dont. with the right type of machine instead of the sucker type far more common, people would actually benefit by going to machines.

    Key words highlighted.

Last couple times in Vegas, I checked every video BJ machine I walked by. NONE had 3-2 BJ payout. Most 6-5; some even worse at "2 for 1". Rules on machines were always worse than the table games in my opinion..........including the stadium style machines like at the Linq. Now IF they would re-program those machines to have similar rules to the better table games, they would almost entirely handle the "social distancing" rules, since the stadium seating had an individual unit for each player. I just don't know how fast the casinos could order and put those games in place. But it wouldn't surprise me if they did start doing this, since it seems they are always trying to limit their labor costs and this "epidemic" can give them another reason to do so.

u must have skipped the el cortez and the D. both of them pay 3-2 on the machine, but i never considered them good machines because both shuffle every hand. el cortez is $1 minimum and the D is $5. and only el cortez lets u get credit on your card for playing it. now in the old days the el cortez had the good kind that didnt shuffle every hand and they used to have special point offers which on certain times added 1% payback which brought it over 100%. that machine got replaced yrs ago with one that no longer gave out nearly as many points, no multiple points or days, and shuffled every hand. but hey they kept the 3-2 payouts. they moved the location too, its now in the opposite side next to the video craps and keno luonge.

to find a decent VBJ game in NV now u have to go to either the pioneer in laughlin or hoover dam lodge outside of boulder city, where im banned.

Something interesting about the percentage that Don mentioned, (the more accurate one), is that the fatality rate was 2.22% of confirmed cases 1 Apr. This percentage has increased in small increments over time to be at 5.84% today, 3 May. It has also stagnated over the last several days, hovering around the same fatality rate with no daily increase, an indication of being at a plateau, and that the quarantine in place measures have a positive effect, which happens to be practically the only tool in the toolbox until proven treatments and a vaccine are available. There is a difference between slowing the spread and stopping the spread, though. Slowing it means the same total fatalities over a longer period of time is all. All the medical people I know see the tip of the iceberg in potential fatalities if social distancing and quarantine in place measures fail. 3.4% of 40% of the US population works out to nearly 5 million potential fatalities, whether they are croaking off at 2000 a day, or 300,000 a day, you still get the same total on this equation. Stopping it, such as New Zealand has, with new cases in the single digits, is possible. We need to be more like New Zealand and less like Italy is the bottom line. Would I walk into a New Zealand casino (I don't know if they even have casinos in New Zealand), business, or be out in public there tomorrow? Yes. Would I go to Vegas with approximately 2000 or more COVID-19 deaths a day nationally? No. A sloppy and inept response to the crisis has given the US four times the number of cases of any other country, and the spread continues.

The perceived mortality rate is high because of inadequate testing. I believe the true number is 0.5-1% and we won't know what's the correct number until everyone is antibody tested, which will never happen.
