I get that you dont want to play robotically but if youre already having to sacrifice ev for cover why would you sacrifice MORE on a weaker count

Another thread that went from a new member making an innocent introduction to a pissing contest and then to the always present count profession. 34, now 35 post, of useless drivvle.

After learning basic strategy, really understanding what rules give the house an advantage and learning to identify what tables you should sit down at would be the next step prior to mastering counting?

Think of it as a pyramid. It takes awhile to build that base. Once the base is done, you slowly build the structure, layer by layer, each succeeding layer slightly smaller in area than the previoys layer. Eventually, you reach the pinnacle. Then, modify your base by extending its length, and then increase the size of succeeding layers, until the pyramid is properly formed again, repeating the process as the years go on.

Next step, after counting is indices- Illustrious 18 and fab 4. After that, more indices. Keep in mind that each rule is either beneficial to the player or to the house. Learn the degree to what the value of those benefits are. CVCX can calculate house edges for you. Look up Snyder Profit Index, which will give the value if rules as they affect different number of decks. On it goes. That's plenty for now.

My counsel in this matter is that a count system is another tool needed to beat the casinos. Learn to use one that will (1) give you and advantage and (2) be reasonable to learn. Then focus on understanding casino and game selections, bankroll and bet management and casino comportment. If you are still with us then look at your tools and see if you need to upgrade to attack a segment of your targets. If so, then learn the higher count or learn Monkey count to attach Spanish or learn hole carding to attack the myriad of games but realize their are options.

Certainly would not use hilo to attack Mississippi stud hole carding, proper tools are needed for the appropriate plays. The mine (HiOPTII, column count, perfect play, KO, Felt, Zen, whatever) is bigger than yours is a narrow view of advantage play. If I have a large enough bank then I don't much care about risk averse indexes of RoR, I just want to get the money bet when I have an advantage.

If I am seeking to attack BJ pitch games and looking for the most suitable count then, by all means, share your knowledge and insight about the best. But realize that the difficulty of the count system is a major component of its value, otherwise we would all just keep track of every card played like Rainman.

Let's remember the objective, remove cash from the casinos by gaining a legal advantage.

PS. There are people I play with that use HiLo, Zen, KO and Hi Opt II, so I support no preference other than suitability to the task.

Since Freightman asked and the Usto guy said the following..Everyone knows its better the sims say its better Norm has a graph on THIS SITE that shows its better using sweet little lollipop graphs - what does me having used it before have to do with anything? "

Most folks who own Lamborghinis keep it garaged and use it more as a status synbol. Only a few idiots would take it for the short drive to work. You just don't need to!

Yeah, Lamborghinis are better than a Camry but do you want to buy one just to drive to work?

About Blackjack: The Forum

BJTF is an advantage player site based on the principles of comity. That is, civil and considerate behavior for the mutual benefit of all involved. The goal of advantage play is the legal extraction of funds from gaming establishments by gaining a mathematic advantage and developing the skills required to use that advantage. To maximize our success, it is important to understand that we are all on the same side. Personal conflicts simply get in the way of our goals.
