    MGM National Harbor

    Went to the brand spanking new MGM today and if you are looking for a good blackjack game look elsewhere. We can now thank MGM for bringing 6:5 blackjack to the state of Maryland. 30/50 blackjack tables are CSM and 24 of them are 6:5. The minimums were probably inflated due to it being opening day but lowest minimum for a 3:2 shoe was $100 and most of them were $300. Standard MGM rules apply. Really disappointed that 6:5 has spread into Maryland which was once a blackjack haven. Hopefully Maryland Live and Horseshoe don't follow suit.

    Yeah the high limit room had S17 with surrender. They had one table $100 min and the others were $300 min.

    The opening date keeps changing and is now fall of 2018. That's as close as they'll say.

    MGM left Foxwoods in April 2014. Even though it was 3 years ago, I'll bet they have the customer data base. That would be a good start.

    Do they not understand they are a "locals" casino there? By making their casino mostly 6/5 they are, in effect, giving their competitors an opening. MGM would have been better off opening with all s17 ds ls rsa 6 deck on every table and then gradually shift to worse rules over time.

    Maybe MGM in Maryland will become the next Atlantic City with unfortunate consequences laying off 9000 people. Looking forward to it! Only suckers play 6:5 Blackjack.

    My understanding is that DAS and LS are required by law in Maryland--even on the H17 and (lol) 6:5 tables.

    It doesn't matter if they offer DAS and LS or not they have more flexibility since Blackjack pays 6:5.
