That doesn't match my observations at this betting level. $25 and up, I usually see a pretty decent grasp of BS.

Simple Strategy only gives up a tiny amount, and is trivial to learn.

    Anyway, suppose the effective edge is 1%, that's $20k action, or 4 players averaging a bit under $35 a hand @ 150 rounds/hr.

In any case, I'm not seeing that most tables are going to be netting $200/hr, or support high dealer pay.

A full table usually deals out about 60 rounds per hour.

Interesting points by KJ And LVBear. Winning fair & square against a business model that has built in house edge, then adds more decks, more cuts, H17 no Sur., and then 6:5 doesn't garner much sympathy. As for the dealer, suppose it could be considered collusion. In no way do i desire to harm another doing their job.
Does dealer school inform them as to penetration. I've asked during reshuffles why they do a half turn before the riffle and the answer is always "that's just how they taught us to do it." Don't sound like they told 'em about edge sorting.
And I've experienced wild flutuations in penetration with a single dealer.
This is not an overt request for a better cut, more like a "we could play more and shuffle less" kinda thing while I slide out a toke.
Anyway after reading all this, I'm kinda on the fence

From what I understand, dealer schools teach basic skills, and house procedures tell them how to combine those basic skills.

A fair number of suits I encounter don't understand the why of the various procedures.

I think the houses are deliberately not explaining that "If you don't do X, the game is vulnerable to Y." Not sure if it's mushroom management, or they're trying to prevent dealers from getting ideas about how to cheat the game. May depend on the place.
