"Frankly, I could use the income. But, not the hassle of subscriptions and refunds. I also think it would cause more harm than good. At least I keep saying that to myself, as if I believed in some much touted idealistic philosophy."I am curious as to what changed your mind.

Seriously, I don't have time for this. I have work to do.

That is the post I was looking for to cite for the suggestion thread. I payed my fee already and will continue to, but I think it's a reasonable question.

I was told from the very beginning that I would need to do this. I resisted for two years. But, the site simply takes too much of my time. I need to work. Thinking back on the people that caused me to basically halt work for periods of time -- it became obvious that these people would have never been here in the first place with a nuisance fee.

I really don't have time to get into a huge philosophical discussion over a nominal nuisance fee. I am trying to get another Blackjack app out and I need to concentrate.

    Norm,

Thank you for having this site and up an running. A youngster like me really appreciates the assistance from AP's, plus this will help get rid of spam, stop some casinos from scoping the forum and the man deserves some cash when he's providing a service. Its better than Blackjack apprenticeship where they charger 35 dollars and there forum sucks.

It is certainly a nominal fee. I try to avoid as many of these monthlies as possible. My objection had nothing to do with the amount. It might be so trivial that I pay it but that is a slippery slope. It is definitely a bargain. You will know if I stop posting. I am actually really busy right now with some family emergency thrown in as well.

It's a very small price for the amount of knowledge that's available here.
Hopefully current members who do not pay the fee and new members won't take advantage of the free forums by posting questions there that belong in the subscriber forums.
This would cause a major headache for the moderators.

Yeah, I am sure that will never happen . But now that you mention it, it is fairly rare to see a post moved to a different forum. I wonder if you will see a lot of threads busted because the person did not buy a membership, severely degrading the non-pay area of the site. It does not sound like you are concerned about the mods, more like you do not think it would be fair if someone gets a free ride. I guess I would have you to thank if my general question about card counting was busted because it was 50.646% about speciifc card counting procedures, as opposed to being generally about blackjack. Then I would have to pay, and I would complain that your counting question was too general, and it should be free for the noisy ploppies to post about.
