• Atlantic City revenue down, Internet revenue up

A.C. continues to fade. They're making some extra cash with online betting. They claim online casinos are not cannibalizing the existing business. They may hope the online betting will eventually bring people to the real casino experience. But, it's hard to see how they survive.

Just wait until everyone gets their tax refund. Internet gambling is probably the only thing that fat boy Christie got right since he's been governor. I'm not surprised to see that revenues are dropping, not surprised at all. In fact I think it will get much worse throughout the industry before the music stops. Allowing internet gambling in the state is just like pulling another rabbit out of the hat. Their trying to put a Band-Aid on a long-term problem. It's kinda like watching a drowning victim gasp for air, sad at the same time because I enjoy going to casinos but only the strong will survive in this environment. If people decide to gamble from their house it will only further hurt the economies of the surrounding areas. Storm clouds a forming.

Difficult to tell. Casinos and I'Net gambling co-exist in Europe. Of course, the casinos aren't so massive in size. The sheer size of American casinos requires constant feeding, and may be a weakness.

It is difficult to tell but my eyes don't fool me when I see contraction in the industry and quarter after quarter casinos are not meeting their revenue expectations. It's not that I want to see such things happen I just think it's an industry in decline. It seems like the liquidity is drying up on the street and a lot of people are cash strapped. The internet gambling seems more like a fad/trend. With what happened with all of those poker sites that got seized by the government a few years ago it's difficult for me to trust the online world of gambling.

It is a contraction because most peoples income can't keep pace with reality, therefore they can't/don't gamble as much

Competition will tell which AC casinos survive. I think competition is good.

Online gambling? Take a dive and swim at your own risk.

The online casinos in New Jersey are run by the casinos. Why would they be any more likely to cheat online than in-house? They're subject to the same laws and regulatory agencies.

I don't trust them in a casino further than what I can see with my own eyes either.

True. But frankly, I think it's easier to cheat in a bricks and mortar casino. In bricks and mortar casinos, I’ve had dealers cheat for me more than cheat against me. Either because they want tips, feel some kinship with players, or just dislike their bosses. Bit, online casinos are code, not human. Two problems with such code. First, it is more measurable. Second, it exists somewhere, and if discovered, is clear evidence of enormous fraud against massive numbers of people.

I think it is easier to prove cheating in an online casinos.
