• Van Thu Tran sentenced to 36 months

Closing a ten-year fraud case. I'm usually not that interested in Blackjack cheating scandals; although they can negatively affect honest players, like card counters. But, the list of casino taken is interesting. And it's interesting to see a summary in a financial magazine.

The victims were casinos, not churches or retirees. Besides, thats the wife.

That's my point. Casino usually manage to get unduly harsh penalties imposed upon cheaters. For example, not paying a marker is a crime in Nevada. Non-payment of a note or a bad check is a civil action in the rest of the world.

The sentencing guidelines for federal prosecution tops out at 36 most (even for 100M$) provided retiree money not involved.
Also, being the wife was the kingpin she probably rolled on the others, claimed she did it for love or fear, etc., and got a "downward departure" letter for DOJ.

Anyone have an idea as to why they stayed out of AC?
