What he is simulating cannot be simulated without making assumptions. Those assumptions are that the system works. For example, how would you sim TARGET? The sim must make bets based on how dirty ashtrays are, how full the chip tray is, etc. But, how can you sim such things? You must have rules built into the logic that sim the ashtrays and chip tray. And, those rules must be based upon players coming and going. That is, they must be based upon the assumptions behind TARGET. So, the sim is self-fulfilling. It is merely telling you want you want to hear.
A good example is a “simulation” of the Scoblete Five Count Craps System run by Catlin long ago. He explains how he ran the sim “proving” that the system works. Basically, he assumed that the system worked in the sim logic. So, of course it showed it working.
It’s very easy to fall into this trap. When a simulator is designed, it must make no assumptions other than the rules of the game.

Same Eddie Olsen that published Blackjack Confidential for several years along with his wife Connie? If so, I'm glad that you "exonerate" him because I always considered him to be quite reputable. Any idea what happened to the Olsens' after they stopped the mag? (guessing around 1998) I met both of them at one of the Las Vegas Hilton's Million dollar tourney's several years ago. I have all issues of BJ Confidential (along with the in between "extra" publications) from about 1993 to the last and I would consider selling them if anyone is interested. I would probably want to keep the 6 or 8 issues having special meaning to me because of pictures and results of events that I won or placed in.
