Not really. It's very easy to skip one lengthy post. There's even an internet abbreviation for it: TL;DR.
The bigger problem is the endless, unrelated banter that prolongs a simple thread - one that should have a handful of responses, into page after page of drivel - like this one.
And here I was hoping that this thread would branch off into how to use CSM's for that 10% edge with BP's or in another manner.......................

Oh my goodness, really?
I have stated repeatedly that you should use whatever count you can do flawlessly, and I stand behind that.
i have stated you should start with HiLo. See post 25.

Heck, I even use HiLo in certain circumstances, because it's the best tool for those circumstances.
And, FWIW, when I decided to move to a more advanced count, I considered halves, but couldn't do the math. Sidecounting aces was easier. Ergo, I couldn't do halves flawlessly.
If using HiOpt 2 means I lose credibility, so be it...
So weird. Just saw on CNN that as a result of the Freightman-3 detente that North Korea announced a truce with South Korea and in Russia, Putin is stepping down as dictator to pursue the FB-ASC. Will wonders never cease! Hallelujah!

of course the new poster likes the humor - everyone does - has anyone even been on the other free blackjack forums - they are wastelands - and ive said before you got to have the wheat with the chaff - if you want to have a nice sour dough roll you got to get some itchy leaves stuck in your crotch...its makes the roll taste that much better.
(and if you add the leaves back on top of it then it is REALLY sourdough..)
Stealth was just pissed that useful conversations aren't peppered with humor but shot down with terrible, tin-eared ATTEMPTS at humor and plummet to the ground into an unsalvageable wreck that nobody wants to participate in anymore.
A lot of counters are - at their core - introverted, narcissistic loners and forums were invented for and by introverted narcissistic loners
Jeez, I was kinda hoping for a 9 page discussion on something interesting, not....well, whatever the hell this is.
I don't KNOW what he is doing, but I think I know what he's doing....and it's really not all that 'special' and certainly not specific to CSM.
I've been a big proponent of Stealth's #2 in his list, mainly the bolded.
The goal of AP is NOT to play the game with the lowest HE; the goal is to play the game to make the most money (with some caveats). I'll take a 5% HE game with a 20% player edge over a 0.2% HE game with a 1.5% player edge.
Also -- learn and figure stuff out for yourself. No one knows everything. That includes you, me, and everyone else. If you get your information from someone else, that means you're late to the party. I'm not saying getting information from others is bad, because it certainly isn't, but that shouldn't be your main form of acquiring information (unless you're very new to AP, where you basically have no idea where to start). Don't be quick to dismiss something just because you don't know about it.
The best APs I know are the ones who can look at a situation and look at every possible way to exploit it, knowing it likely leads to nowhere. Sometimes you'll see a mistake or flaw and you won't be able to exploit it. But if you figure out how you would be able to exploit it, then you'll be looking for that flaw in the future and when it arises again, you might be able to take advantage of it.
The goal isn't to make the most money per hand, per hour, or whatever else, at least it's not for me. My goal is to make the most lifetime. I'd rather make $10,000 over the course of 20 hours if it'll keep the play alive than to make $2,000 over the course of 1 hour and kill the play.
