It wasn't a "poor" post; it was a negative post. There's a difference. It was a good post, but it said negative things.

"More often, he either addresses the question or he ignores it. I am sorry to know it bothers him."

It doesn't bother me. It bothers me that others think you can be rehabilitated and spend so much time (and bandwidth) trying. I was simply expressing my opinion. I don't think you have the emotional stability to play the game properly. That isn't being unkind; it's being honest and realistic. If you can't accept results for the meaningless blips that they are and just PLAY without agonizing over every hand, you are much better off not playing at all.

    Don
Don, now this is better. You are correct and in prior posts I have admitted that my biggest opponent is my character/personality. It is what I am trying to overcome.

Besides a life of frugality (cheap), in person I am an extreme introvert and a nomad (lived in 8 states and 24 cities in last 50 years) to whom work was everything. I knew retirement was coming and I needed something and took up BJ. I am happy I got to the point where I am a better than even played but now am trying to perhaps earn $15k a year after expenses.

Like the forums, I enjoy "talking" to anonymous folks at casinos. Now, it's trying to get better at BJ. Even with a now $50k BR, I am still reluctant to put out max bets and panic when my BE drops under $45k.

All of you, and especially you for convincing me that the math is right, have helped me greatly. You have helped me stay with my count when I had doubts HiLo would work, others have encouraged me when I had thoughts of quitting and many others have, often with ridicule, helped me make the right decisions such as putting down a full doubledown or splitting 9's against a 10 or not playing to please poppies at the table.

I am sorry that I start so many threads but I notice that the forums can sometimes need some action. The other forum is now quite dead because anything less than a high level subject gets the few posters there to lash out.

In any case,no offense. I admire you and am thrilled that you are the writer/author that participates and provides a significant legitimacy to these forums.

That's like saying you will play negative counts because you need action. Quality is better than quantity in forumville.
