So how am I to find these juicy DD games with a pit full of idiots? How many do you suppose there are in the US? I suppose I could call and ask. Do you allow table min to max bets? Will you allow me to make as much as I want during my 3 day stay? Do you have EITS? If so, why? Do you offer blackjack 24 hrs a day?

Or I could schedule flights and visit every city in the US that offers DD. That might be a little time consuming and pricey. But then I don't make the kind of money that you do. I actually have to play the game. I can't seem to magically get the cards to give me a blackjack or a ten with a double down every time I place a large bet. However, I'm pretty damn good at getting an Ace to go with my 11. Lol
I'm not sure about you Moses, but I network with many people and we exchange information on various games across the country. I have a few friends (who travel regularly) that I speak with over the phone frequently. I also have many contacts that I exchange emails with every so often as well.

The point is, this is how you get information on games outside of Reno.

I'm sharing this here because it seems fitting and bigplayer's advice always seems sound:

"It's the other players who are your competition.

I have two friends, the first shared info about a great double deck game he had been milking over a few years with the second friend. The recipient of the info went in and over three days crushed the casino for $130,000+ spreading table min to table max on an s17 ds ls rsa double deck game dealt 85% at a casino that had never previously ever barred anyone for being skilled. The casino then barred him, many others, and changed the game to h17 no ds, no surrender, 40% pen. The original player who had been milking the game for a few years and had maybe won $50,000 that whole time was pissed off that he lost his private ATM. The second player basically told him that if he didn't want the game destroyed he should have kept it to himself.

Milking a game is rarely the optimal solution to maximizing your EV. There is some mix of art and science at figuring out the best approach but you will generally make more money by being the person to crush a game. If you spread big at a small innocent casino with a great game and LOSE, chances are they'll love you more and give you plenty of chances to get your money back. If you win you'll win more than you would have made otherwise and can move onto other things. Money now is worth a lot more than money two years from now when talking about gambling and scaling up your bets."

I know you mean very well but it is probably not a good idea to copy posts from BJ21 to this forum. This forum is searchable by Google but BJ21 is not. People post there with the expectation that their posts will not be seen on the entire web. Unless of course you took permission from the author.

    Banker,

Point taken. Hope it isn't an issue. The information is pretty vague though, and while BJ21 is a paid subscription forum, I would still consider it to be very public. If I felt like the information was too sensitive, I would not have shared it.

Some people like to burn places up like 20-to-1. Other people like to milk slowly like moses and Ronster. Many of us fall somewhere in between. There's a place and a person for every style. I don't want to travel great distances, so I play more like moses where I figure out the tolerances and stay within them. Others who like to travel are less worried about being able to return frequently and so they play in a style that fits. This is probably why I have found Laughlan to be profitable, but I typically don't go unless someone else is driving because I never found very good conditions.

You say there are better conditions, so I am inclined to check Laughlan out again, this time with my own transportation. I do appreciate the info on the Trop's DD and I'm tempted to check out the riverside. Can you tell us the rules for the playable SD's in Laughlan? I don't know how to play SD, mostly because I've never come across a good game, but I would like to learn. If I can get the rules to run some sims and memorize some BS that would be wonderful.
What I hate about large spreads, is the inevitable huge swings in your BR. I used to feel as others do on this site that a 1 to 2 spread is ludicrous, but I have found that is not the case, far from it.....The Trop used to have more than one DD, but with the advent of the damn circus games there is now only 1 $10 DD and 1 $25 DD game, no SD. 3:2 bj, Dealer hits s17, Double on any 2, no double after splits, with about 65 to 70 % pen....It's a very beatable game.....The Riverside has about the only SD's, with 3:2 bj, in fact all their games are SD with the exception of a 3 card poker or two....3:2 bj, double 10/11 only, insurance 2:1. Hard to find anything but a full table except for the $25 table, and sometimes it's full. But most times you can light on it heads-up or 1 or 2 players, with decent pen, which makes it a very beat-able game. But I only spread 2 units on it, $25 to @50, and I never get any winning heat because I never stay more than an hour.......And I reiterate, girls sometimes ski naked up and down the river, great fishing, very inexpensive chow and rooms.....what's not to like?

It's called scouting and networking. It can gain you fortunes over playing the entire time you are in the casino.

Just saying... it works for me....Again, I use a 1 to 2 unit spread and a 1 unit press to 3 units on a win with a good deck, on a quarter table. I use 5 session br's of $500, $2500 total br....I average 2 top bet wins ($100) per hour with very little fluctuation in my bankroll. I do modify basic for different c's. If/when I lose a session br I call it a day, if for nothing else to let my head clear. I've been playing this way for many many years, and I can count the joints I've lost on one hand and have fingers left over...I know many of you on this site question the above and the veracity thereof, but it works for me....Different strokes for different folks I guess...

Id rather make 250k in one year than 25k a year for 10 years.
