I am playing mostly H17 DD with mediocre pen utilizing a spread as follows:
start at 2X$50
+1 : 2X$50
+2 / +3 : 2X$100
Max @ +4 and above : 2X$200
in negatives i will drop to 2X$20 or possibly one hand of $10 depending on casino tolerance.
Utilizing Halves and full indices. My risk of ruin is negligible (<1%).
My view is that it will be fine but unless you have great cover, playing 2 hands in DD games is hard to get away for long. Could you start playing 2 hands, drop to one and back to two or start one hand, go to two and back? If you can, it’s possible to get more creative and confusing.
For example, start with a hand of $25, count gets negative, drop to 2 x $10, count gets positive, go to two hands of $50 sometimes or to one hand of $75. The amount of money you put on the table is appropriate but the number of hands vary randomly.
Another thing is that in heads up play at DD, you would be better off playing one hand instead of two but with one other player, playing 2 hands might be better. Note that the more spots being played, the worse it is in DD so if you have 3 other players at the table, 5 spots being played (including your two), then the penetration has to be greater..rule of eleven.
I never play DD when there are more than 3 spots being played.
