Agreed Moses. Always watch the people watching. Most are bored, hoping for something interesting to talk about in the break room. Give them something to look at and think about other than the AP. Simple misdirection. But I'm old school.
When playing and "checks play" is called or the pit boss has been watching and turns and goes to phone, watch his/her eyes as they are likely calling surveillance. If it is about you then while they are talking they will look in your direction. Happens every time.
At that point, understand they have likely asked surveillance to evaluate your play which may mean going forward or may mean re-run the shoe(s) and rate your play. Not much good can come from this, so I usually decide it is time to seek my fortune elsewhere, as should you.
Luck is nothing more than probability taken personally!
One particular incident stands out in my mind. Started to play at Mirage, rejected card, and got the grilling from the dealers - where are u from, where do you play, do you have a mortgage, and what is the name of your first born.
Anyways, ramped quick got the eye, critter sauntered over to her phone, hunkered down and whispered into the phone. No, she didn't to turn and look at me, but some things are obvious. Wasn't there long, but it was quickly time to go.
