In any event, your describing someone who is shuffletracking (either tracking slugs if cards or specific cards), ratholing (hiding chips to decrease his win or increase his loss to mask his threat to the house), wonging (not play during periods if player disadvantage).

One thing that does describe this guy as a shuffle tracker, is that he occasionally increased his bets in negative counts. That could be explained that despite the negative count, that if he was shuffletrack8ng, that he was in a positive slug. Thus would indicate a hand shuffled game.
Its hard for us to know if he was using a side count because we literally found out what card counting was 4 or 5 days ago. He wasn’t rude either, just loud and joking. Also, he was drinking Coronas, so are you sure it wasn’t you? We were reading through your other posts and based on where you’ve visited, we thought surely it could be you. If not, oh well. I wonder who he was. It felt like we were in a movie watching his act.

I’ll only play specific lower limit tables, usually play higher limit. My main hangouts don’t offer lucky ladies (very countable), Don’t drink Coronas - loud sometimes, but not obnoxious, joking frequently. I can be quite entertaining to watch.

I’m curious (and fascinated). You’ve been counting for 4 to 5 days? Wow, I’m (seriously) impressed. What count system, what’s your background in researching counting, and how are you making out?

Yeah this was a lower limit table. Maybe one day we will find out who he was

i stumbled upon counting a few days ago after going to a shitty casino that had a CSM and we lost more than usual, granted we’d only been playing the game a couple weeks. I started looking into what that machine was because I’d never seen it. Well, while I was doing it, I stumbled upon blackjack apprenticeship and my entire view on gambling was transformed. I started reading about hi lo and then I showed my husband. I was like ok, maybe we don’t actually have to be autistic savants like in the movie Rain Man to count cards! So we started learning it right there and then while also drilling basic strategy into our heads. We’ve only practiced twice, and the first night I probably got lucky when I made out with triple what I started with. Last night I lost a third of that but I know I was making mistakes because I’m new, still trying to remember the 18 deviations, and that counter we were watching was so fascinating... not to mention the fact that even if we were already playing perfect, we know you don’t always win.

I also want to say learning this whole process has made me despise the casinos. When that guy was winning last night, the employees looked so pissed. How do these casinos buy these pit bosses/other employee’s loyalty like that? I just kept thinking ok, if I worked here, I’d be thinking yay, take the casinos money!!! I was so disappointed in their behavior and it’s sad they only want losing players. Surely the amount of losing players more than make up for the advantaged players, so they’re just greedy. Also, I made a mistake by following the guy to get his number because we both wanted to see if we could get some tips out of him (before realizing his system is probably way too hard for us newbies), and I noticed a manager or someone was following trying to listen, so I shut up. Sorry to ramble, but it was so sad and interesting to me to witness these employees trying to act like the CIA because the dude was winning.

I continue to be impressed by your commentary.

You don’t need to be a savant to win. Further, 2 weeks in and learning the I18 is impressive. Of course you’ll make mistakes at this stage. Just play low limit, limit your spread, understand that you’re not seasoned enough to be a winning player yet, think of t as low cost tuition.

Just keep asking questions. I’m not likely going to hang out here much longer, so I wish you luck.

Yes, noted, and we will keep doing just that! Also do you mean you will no longer post on these forums?

Just there. Actually, I did play a lower limit table with a couple, a couple of weeks ago. Silver reef is a few miles closer to the Canadian border on the west side if the highway, this was a few miles before that on the east side if the Highway.

The couple left after an idiot sat down. Didn’t drink anything.

Freightman’s got a fan, I am one too but do remember, because of his Ace side counting technique, you shouldn’t shake hands with him!

    I wash.
Mind you, I’m reminded of a guy who was in the washroom the same time as me, took a whiz, didn’t wash his hands but put them under the dryer. He then sat down at my table. I referenced the foregoing to him, asked him if he peed on his hands, mentioned his failure to wash and requested, upon his confirmation, that he sit elsewhere. Another friend.
