    I mean, 90+% of players I see play the side bets on every single hand, this has to have a similar (maybe even worse) effect on EV than 6:5, no?

    You're right. The side bet at my local casino has a house edge of 10%, and the majority of ploppies still play it. I’ve had as many as 3 ploppies play on mine. Since I don’t play it, the locals think my spot hits it more than theirs. They always go bananas if someone hits it and they aren’t playing it.

    They love the side bet, just because it pays a bunch if they hit it. It’s kind of like playing slots while they're playing bj. If we can’t get the ploppies to stop playing the side bet, how are we ever going to get them to stop playing 6:5?
