    BJC: Surrender hands

    I regularly play 6d, das, ls, s17 which is the predominant game in my area. Depending upon the house and pit, the pen. ranges from 4-4.5/6 on the main floor to .8-1/6 in the HL room where I have shifted a majority of my play.
    Having used only 16v9-10 surrender I am considering adding theseRPC 1/2dtc)
    8,8 v T TC=>2
    14 v T TC=>2
    14 v 9 TC=>5
    15 v A TC=>1
    15 v T TC=>-1
    15 v 9 TC=>2
    15 v 8 TC=>6
    16 v A TC=>-1
    16 v T TC=>-3
    16 v 9 TC=>0
    16 v 8 TC=>7
    My hesitance to adding this many plays is that on one side of my brain I think I will be giving up so many hands, but on the other side it says if I give up 10 hands at $100ea. thats a loss of $500. If I play it out and win only 20% of the time I lost $600, but at 30% win rate I am ahead of surrendering by $100. Having read a large number of books, they all say how properly used LS is a valuable rule.
    Should I use all the plays above or eliminate some from my arsenal?
    Thanks in advance for your replies.

    Surrender is a vitally important rule, adding to your e.v. while lowering your s.d. That said, it's obvious that certain indices are more important than others, and I have labeled the Fab 4 those that are the most important, namely 15 v. 9, 10, and Ace, and 14 v. 10. Of course, the BS plays for 16 v. 9, 10, and Ace continue to be made, as well.

    Learn and use as many as you are comfortable with. You certainly should have been using all of the 15s. They are important. I have used all of the above, and more, for over 30 years! :-)

    Enjoy!

    Thank you for your reply.
    Adding a few more indices to the 80+ I have down pat with 99% recall will not be a problem, nor will it make me uncomfortable. Prior to my question to you, I added them over the weekend to my CVBJ tables, now I just have to slow down and take the time to relearn these hands.
