ES: Re: Advantage Play for the Casino Executive by Bill Zender
Bill Zender is knowledgeable and not hostile to card counters. The price is very reasonable. I am curious as to his thoughts on advantage play at craps. I am somewhat skeptical as to whether a dice-setter can increase his probability of rolling a 7 (or any other total) sufficiently to overcome the house edge. I wish BZ would have included an update on card counting from his earlier book. Reserve a copy for me.

Sun Runner: Reserve me one also, and Mister S. ..
.. why the ire for EJ? I know Bill Zender is a stand-up guy but why should Eliot not be givien the same chance?

You don't want to know.

He probably didn't want to render that book useless, so this way a person wanting all the info has to buy both books. Besides, since he markets these books primarily toward casino personnel, the less they know, the happier I am. I'm not at all eager for this book to come out, but you can bet I'll sell it so that we always know what the casino does.
His first batch of books is actually going to the World Gaming Protection Conference at the MGM next week, and he has a bunch of backorders from some casino personnel magazine that has been running parts of the book already. However, he has promised to call as soon as he has some for me, and seems to think that they'll be available at the end of the month. I'll let you know when I do!

So my clamourning for him to be given a fair shake is mis-placed?
Uh-oh.

ES: Two New Books by Arnold Snyder
Arnold Snyder's "The Big Book of Blackjack" was just released. It has an interesting history of the game. It covers Scarne vs. Thorp. Comprehensive basic strategy and Red 7 count are included. It has chapters on BS and Red 7 for Double Exposure, Super Fun 21 and Blackjack Switch. I like Snyder's caustic comments about the casinos. Don and "Blackjack Attack" are totally ignored. There is a chapter on the Blackjack Hall of Fame.
Also released: Snyder's "How to beat Internet Casinos and Poker Rooms"

When was this? When I called Cardoza last week, they told me it was still with the author. Maybe they got it confused with another book?
Thanks,
