and his attempt here. He is under attack as being a site of just recreational players by bjfonline and was being beat up pretty bad in the so called "community" since the inception. I like to throw in with the underdog and viewed most of his attackers as phony, suck-ass wimps and red Miata drivers.

I am shocked that there is not more DD members but that may be due to the moderation and the attacks on this site by some others in the "community".

Also BJ is not the game it was even a couple of years ago and I think alot of players have given it up. I mean just look at Wong pushing craps and dice control! Anything for a buck baby!

But if you use this site support it by joining DD. VN and Bettie seem very nice.

I, however, would enjoy a freewheeling politics page, it tends to get boring around here, you know? Alot of us have our game down pat and would like a little diversion here, at least once in a while.

You must wonder what will happen when the casinos totally ruin the game of BJ, as to the continuation of these sites.

    Ouchez.

I am shocked too, but think the reason for this is because people are generally cheap or looking for something for nothing and don't realize that this site wouldn't exist if not for the paid membership and book sales generated. I don't think the moderation discourages anyone as it is a good idea and promotes civility but think what really surpresses membership is that questions on the free pages receive almost instant replies from Parker, Don and Zen containing the most accurate answers to be found anywhere.....all for free, so other than loyalty what incentive do new readers have compelling them to pay.

I've been a paid member of DD, Greenbelt and Trackjack from day one and have always continued my subscriptions and book purchases even though there have been long periods of time with no activity because I know the site couldn't exist without the membership base. (hell I don't even know how much I pay) Besides, anyone who has ever had any dealings with Bettie or Viktor know they are hard workers and they always go beyond your expectations to provide the best service possible to their customers.

I recommend the site to players I meet everywhere I play.

Here we don't agree, the politics page on GC has been the imputus for many fights and long standing feuds among people, we just don't need that or another fight club around here. Besides, after being away playing then coming back and attending to the house and catching up reading the boards, who has time for a social board.

Maybe Wong sees this as the future of BJ and may explain his sudden interest in developing a craps following to perpetuate the membership on his board.

That isn't going to happen here. This is a serious blackjack board, not a freak show. God knows there are enough of those on the Web.

Thank you, though, for the kind words and for your support. But, do NOT hold your breath for a social or political page on Don's Domain. Viktor's Waterkooler is as daring as it's going to get! :-)

DON'T go by the number of handles in the "View User Profiles" link. Because this is a un-moderated board, it is not necessary to create profiles in order to post and so most people don't do it. If you notice, neither Don nor I or most other regular posters are listed there.

DD membership is very fluid most of the time. We have the people who subscribe for a year and always renew, and that's our largest subscriber base, but we also have a lot of customers who subscribe for 3 months once a year before they go on their annual Vegas trip, or to take advantage of the 10% off on large purchases.

We certainly appreciate any support you can throw our way, as it keeps these boards advertisement-free. Believe me, we get a lot of inquiries from online casinos and systems hucksters who want to know what our rates are, and we just tell them no-can-do. We happen to have a little thing called integrity. Those of you new to this site from other boards may be new to the concept, but if you stick around long enough, you'll start to figure it out!

    Thanks again,
    Bettie

I like to be notified of new, worthwhile products, but please NO online casinos or worthless products.

    Bettie: Re: Integrity

Even if someone approached us wanting to advertise a worthwhile product, we'd say "no." Of course we'll sell the product, make announcements, and even create our own banners to announce the product and drive sales, but we do not accept paid advertisements. Oddly enough, no one selling a worthwhile product has ever asked about advertising, only requesting that we re-sell their products. It's only the online casinos and other hucksters who ask about ads. Hmm...

I, very much appreciate info I get from the "paid" areas. I tend to stay away from the "free" pages, as the quality of posts aren't what I am looking for. I pay for DD, GC and other things of value without trying to 'get something for nothing'. The value of knowledge I receive from people such as yourself, Don, Viktor, DD and others at GC MORE than pay for the puny price I pay for a subscription.

I am NOT going to be phoney and say I pay for it because I want to SUPPORT this site, BJ21 or any other. I do it for selfish reasons. I want and need info from knowledgeable sources. Thing is, you gain valuable insite and, occasionally make a valuable 'friend' or two.

In any endeavor in life, you ultimately pay for what you get in return. If I feel that I am not receiving an adequate compensation of valuable information for my subscription dollar, or I feel that I am 'unwanted', then I will leave.

I don't think we need to be too concerned for those that try to get whatever they can from the "free" sites. Afterall, they ultimately DO get what they pay for. There is some good information available there, but the good stuff comes from the other forums. There's a whole, new world in the paid area of this site...not to mention the feeling of belonging to a special community.

One more thing...thanks to all you guys that have been around awhile and have really tried to help those of us that are bobbing and sinking when we are trying to just tread water in this crazy BJ world!

BJTF is an advantage player site based on the principles of comity. That is, civil and considerate behavior for the mutual benefit of all involved. The goal of advantage play is the legal extraction of funds from gaming establishments by gaining a mathematic advantage and developing the skills required to use that advantage. To maximize our success, it is important to understand that we are all on the same side. Personal conflicts simply get in the way of our goals.
