    Stingray: another weird Harrods promo

    BLACKJACK

Every time the dealer has a face-up card of 10 and gets a 21 (not blackjack), you will earn a bonus equal to your total wager.

The way these promos work is that you play over the weekend as normal and the no. of bonuses you are entitled to are credited to your account on Monday.

So how much percent of the time does the dealer get a non bj 21,and what percentage of these has the first card as a 10.
(now i hope they mean of value 10 and not the number 10) that isnt explained.

Huge edge for the player. Ten turns into non-natural 21 3.47% of the time in the 6-deck game.

Thanks Don.So this is roughly once every 28 hands. The software is a bit slow but i should get 240 hands per hour,so it should happen 8.5 times per hour.if i bet 10? an hour that is 85? per hour.
Problem is the max amount of bonuses you can get is 250?. 3 hours playing.
Now i am thinking are there any strategy changes that would be worth trying.Maybe standing on 16 v 10?
As if you hit you go bust and dont give the dealer a chance to get 21. I have a feeling that since 16 v 10 is a close one anyway that standing in this situation may be right.

"As if you hit you go bust and dont give the dealer a chance to get 21."

That if you hit 16 and do go bust then the dealer has now no chance to get 21.

You meant 10 pounds per hand. Yes, right.

Yes, very clever of you. I'd say definitely stand on 16 v. 10. But, there really aren't many other close plays v. the ten, so that might be it.

    A very good strategy, agree.

    Penalties by standing always:

    9, 7 vs T = 0.00142% occurrence = 1 in 272

Since you?re going to be right 50% of the time anyway that means that your cost is,
for flat betting $10 a total of:

    10* 0.00142* 272 * .5 = $1.9312 assuming a total of 272 hands (more than 3 hours probably)

    T, 6 vs T = 0.00627% occurrence = 1 in 69 aprox.

    Cost. equals here:

    10* 0.00627 * 69 * .5 = $2.16315

Therefore after 272 hands you have to count with a cost of $8.5272

So your total cost for the camouflage is:

$10.5472 aprox. (unfortunately in British pounds), by playing 272 hands and standing
    always on your 16s.

You can disregard the cost of the multiple hands who added to 16, among other things,
because you?ll probably right to stand anyhow, most of the time.

Given that Don?s calculations are right, then there is no problem to sacrifice a little, as you see.

    Enjoy your promotion

    Sincerely
    Z

P.S. Hey Don, we have a bonus hustler here! :-)

Zenfighter: Re: Oops, the math is wrong

    Correct seems to be:

    10 * 0.00142 *.5 = $ 0.0071 and

    10 * 0.00627 * .5 = $ 0.03135 for 69 hands and

    $ 0.1236 for 272 hands

    Total = $ 0.1549

This makes sense, since after 272 hands, flat betting yields an aprox action of:

    272 * 10 * 1.113 (sd) = $ 3027.36 where the cost seems to be:

    0.005% only.

    More clever yet, the trick!

    Regards
    Z
