In celebration of the Chinese New Year on Feb. 1, the Palms plans to release a limited edition "Year of the Ram" gaming chip. Available in $8, $25 and $100 denominations, the chips will feature the ram from Chinese astrology.

The number eight is a Chinese lucky number, the reason for the unusual denomination. The $8 chip is blue, while the $25 and $100 versions are the standard green and black, respectively.

I don't collect chips, but I may have to make an exception for this one.
