Bettie: Good News / Bad News
Well, things are getting better in LV. Bellagio has confirmed a $375 million expansion, the Venetian is currently ading another 1,000 room hotel tower on top of the current parking structure, and Mandalay Bay is adding another 1,000+ rooms as well as their massive convention center. Link to more detailed information is below.
As well, downtown is getting a new high-end outlet mall and the Fashion Show Mall expansion is nearly complete. Finally, a Nordstrom's!
On the downside, the King of Freaks is likely moving to Vegas. Michael Jackson has been in town every weekend, taking after-hours tours of King Tut's replicated tomb (where he bought a $27,000 replica sarcophagus) and the motorcyle exhibit at the Guggenheim. Also, he had Sheldon Adelson personally escort him around the Venetian, and asked for the numbers of the architects and painters who did it so he could redo Neverland. He keeps talking about moving here. Now, I know Vegas attracts a lot of freaks, but now their leader is on his way!

Parker: He'll fit right in
MJ is a great "fit" for Las Vegas. Frank Marino can give him makeup tips, and he can do cameos at Marino's show and all the others that feature people impersonating him.
Besides, he probably won't be a full time resident - his face might melt in the Las Vegas summer heat.

Bettie: MJ and Yolies

I can't quite tell if that's a joke, but he has been shopping himself as a Vegas act that includes magic and a concert. Apparently, he's quite jealous of Celine Dion's contract, which involves quite a production with some Cirque du Soleil effects. Celine is bad enough, but MJ? ACK!
hey bettie

No, we ended up going for classic Las Vegas kitsch and had dinner at The Peppermill. Everyone loved it, the food was really good, and the price was certainly right.
I'll be hitting Yolies soon, I'm sure, although I have an ever-growing list of restaurants I want to sample in the Valley.
