Ed Tice: CVData and TC calc times.

Again I apologize if anybody objects to me turning this forum into a CVData support area, but we all use the product, and I think we all have some of the same questions, so I like to bring them up in public to save NW some work and to maybe help other users.

When I run my sims, I always select count recalculations before betting and insurance, but not before first decision or close decisions. (Sometimes I do recalcuate more often, but I like to sim conservatively).

But one thing that I never (rarely, at least) do is to "late bet". If I bust my hand, I put a bet in my betting circle. Not only does this seem more natural to me, but I've been paid a number of times when the dealer busts. But when I select "before betting" count recalculation, I dont know when the calculation is done. Is it done after the dealers cards are shown and then the bet is placed. Or is it done like I do it? This probably doesn't have much effect and only applies when I bust my hand (otherwise I can't bet until the dealers cards are turned over and the old bet is settled!), but I would still like to know what is happening and to try to be able to estimate what affect my betting has on my EV.

The TC Calc Times options are only used for playing indexes. For betting purposes, the dealer cards from the prior hand are always counted. I think most people will hold back their bets when the dealer cards might matter. Though I have to admit that I don't always. If there is interest, I can add the effect of early betting on a bust. Might be interesting.
