    Punter: ? for Parker

Is it possible to respond to someone's post without having the original post appear as part of the reply?

When you go to the message box to enter your reply merely hi-lite that portion of the message you wish to eliminate and hit the delete key.

You can also enter your response within any section of their message by putting the cursor where yu wish to respond and hit enter. Useful if you are responding to multiple questions.

    Parker: Sure

    1. Right-click in the message box and click on "Select All" in the menu that will appear. All the text should then be highlighted.

    2. Right-click again and click on "Delete." The text will disappear.

    3. Type your response.

This is for Netscape/Mozilla, but I believe that MSIE is the same or nearly so.
