bildi66: Tunica
Going to Tunica for three days in April and meeting relatives there.
The relatives are suggesting Bally's and rooms for $25.
We prefer the Gold Strike where the rooms are $49 for weekdays. We prefer it because the rooms are adjacent to the casino and restaurants.
Any comments would be helpful to us.
Thanks........bill

Never stayed at Bally's but the GS probably has the best rooms in Tunica. Plus you're in walking distance of Horseshoe and Sheraton, all though, you'll want to stay away from Sheraton if playing BJ.
If you're looking for a cheap room and good red DD BJ, you can't beat Fitzgerald's.

Bally's casino and hotel are both dumps. Gold Strike is very nice. I got a very nice room on the top floor for $40 w/ players card last march.

if you have to pay for a room in Tunica.

Wildcard: Tunica, my 2 cents
I think you answered your own question. "We prefer Gold Strike". Well, so do I, and many others. If you don't want to be joined at the hip, let them stay at Bally's, and you stay at Gold Strike. Problem solved.
The link will provide you with a casino area map, which you may find helpful, particularly at night. There are a few short cuts between the casinos clusters, but unless you know the area well, you may otherwise drive way out to Hwy 61, which in many cases is not necessary.
Regards,
Wildcard

Actually, we find GS has let its rooms go and the walls are paper thin -- particularly if you get stuck on the end near the stairs -- you'll hear doors slamming all night.
The best rooms in Tunica, if you can get them, are at Sheraton. Nothing else close. The second best are at the old Isle of Capri, now the Sams Town tower, Jacuzzi suites.
