MJ: TKO: Is this a counting system?
Sorry im a BJ newbie. Every now and again I see the term TKO mentioned with the KO system. I was under the impression that there is no true count conversion with the KO system as it is an unbalanced count. So can somebody please explain what TKO is? Thanks!

Any system, balanced or unbalanced, can be true-counted. However, unbalanced systems can also be used in running count mode. TKO stands for "True counted KnockOut.
True-counting KO will indeed increase the power of the system. However, one of the reasons most people choose KO in the first place is because no true count conversion is required. KO's strength lies in its simplicity.
Bottom line: Yes, KO can be true-counted. Don't worry about it. KO works fine "out of the box" in running count mode.
In a few years, after you're a jaded veteran counter who can keep the count perfectly while simultaneously asking the pitboss for a comp and ordering a drink, you might consider true-counting as a refinement to your system.
