Spiz: Should I stay away?
I've been reading up on blackjack and playing "for fun" for a few months now. A few friends of mine play at online casinos. Intercasino seems to be the one to play at. I leave quite a distance from any real casino, and I was wondering if it would even be worth it to play some of these online games (small bets)? I've read 2 different articles, one said that intercasino uses 6-deck, one said 8...both stated 33% pen. Either way, I was wondering the experts' opinion on online blackjack.

Norm Wattenberger: Online Casinos
Yes, Intercasino is a good place to start. The bonus isn't high ($80 this month) but repeats monthly. My favorite casinos are in the Fortune Group. Higher bonuses and repeat weekly. But in my opinion you are better off starting with the lower bonuses and taking the higher ones after some experience. You won't make a fortune at online casinos. But, you don't have to pack and stand in lines at the airport. Also several of them put money in my accounts on my birthday - taking some of the sting out of getting older I keep online casino info at the below link. This is an affiliate page and pays for the BJStats site.

Is it possible to count effectively in online casinos such as this?

Brick: Norm,you're into internet blackjack?
Unbelieveable, what a revolting development. I assume you dont get to the tables very often.
Spiz, brick casinos is where it's at,not internet casinos. If you must gamble on the internet be prepared for a big headache.

Norm Wattenberger: Re: Online Casinos
In general, counting is useless in online casinos. There are a few, like Intercasino, where counting will add some advantage with multi-player tables. But, it's too slow. The only online casino where I've bothered to count is Stanley's Acropolis.

Norm Wattenberger: Advantage play is advantage play
Internet casinos are a reality. I decided to investigate the phenomenon and played a few hundred sessions over a three month period. Why would I ignore a multi-billion dollar segment of the gaming industry? How could I honestly comment on the field without gaining experience myself? I believe they are an excellent method for beginners to create a bankroll. As Janis Joplin said - 'Get it while you can.'

Luck (variance) exists in all games of chance. You should play only when you have an advantage. There are many methods of gaining an advantage. Card-counting is one method in bricks & mortar casinos. But, it doesn't work well in online casinos. But, in online casinos bonuses are available and they can give you the advantage. A heavy advantage. It's just another method of advantage play.
