Juju: Question from a newbie
What is a good indicationation that your gameplay is ready to take to the casino? If not...what techniques should be used to get it up to par?
Thanks,
Juju

Good indications that you are ready for the Big Leagues include:
1. At least 1,000 Unit Bankroll.
2. Ability to Count down through a Double Deck of Cards in 40 seconds, when done two at a time.
3. Ability to perform #2 while distracted, i.e., people talking to you, nearly topless waitress walking by, etc.
4. Mastery of several betting techniques to a level that you can do it automatically (But NOT Mechanically).
5. Mastery of Basic Strategy so that it is "automatic", and mastery of at least "common" indicies for play changes.
6. Ability to "look stupid" while playing.
For me, the "how to" is as follows:
#6...Comes natural. Alcohol consumption helps. DO NOT DRINK and PLAY is same causes you to GET Stupid, instead of just "acting".
#5 & #4...I simply wrote my desired tables, bet ramps, etc. on notebook paper, again, and AGAIN, etc. Eventually, I hit a point that I had them memorized. While driving, I run various tables through my head, again, and again...et. nauseum.
Then, to even further stimulate the cerebrum, I mix them up. Also put all common data on index cards, and refer to them frequently.
#2...I simply spent time (lots) sitting with a DD of Cards and Counting through...AGAIN and AGAIN.
One at a time, then two, then 1-3.
#3...Practice counting while your wife is talking to you (just be careful to NEVER say "yes dear"), or while the TV is on.
#1...Of all of the above, the 1,000 Unit Bankroll is the hardest for me to master...every time I get there, the IRS seems to think that they can use my $ better then I!
Hope this has been helpful.
