BJ21addict: Peoria
Is the pen same (Excellent) as stated in CBJN etc for Par-a-Dice casino? What is the SCORE? I will be in Chicago-for a meeting but will have a rental car to drive during weekend-it is a long drive! is Blue Chip a better choice for me even though pen is not as good? I realize Blue Chip has removed the Double Deck now-I have played there before-but not at Par-a-dice. Any help/advice appreciated. I use Hi-Lo & play green.

I used to live in Chicago, and it's a 3-hour drive to East Peoria. The high-limit room has 4 tables, 2 with a $25 min and 2 with a $50 min. Max is $1,000, and pen is 80% (in the high-limit room only; otherwise its $500 max bet and 75% pen). Rules are (or were, I haven't been back in over a year) 6D, S17, DAS, nS, and you cannot double a blackjack. The rules are the same throughout the casino. It's a Boyd property, FYI, and they aren't known for tolerance, though I can't say for sure what the heat is like since it's been so long since I was there.

Thanks, Bettie
You think they will back me off if I spread 10:1 in green? or Should I Wong out at negative counts and spread about 4:1?
3 hr drive is not that bad-Michigan City is about 1 1/2 anyways? Are there better places nearby?
Appreciate your help

I actually never played there for anything but fun and at low stakes, and at the time I played, they did not have a high-limit pit, so I can't comment on heat or spreads.

I haven't played in that area for over 5 years; the only reason I was at Par-A-Dice last year was because I was in the area for business and thought I'd make a Trackjack report.
Sorry I can't be of more help,

If it's a choice between Peoria or Michigan City, save the gas and go to Michigan City.
As for better places to play in the area - there are none. This part of the midwest, for most players, is a vast BJ wasteland.
cheers

nerd: Pen is more like 80-83% outside of HL area. *NM*
-
nerd: Much less heat in Peoria than in Mich. City. *NM*
