    Jack Fate: The perfect shoe.

I decided to visit the local store last week for a little warm up before my next road trip. This place features the typical midwest fare, 8 decks, s17, no surrender. What makes it playable is you can find 7/8 pen if you try and spread 20 to 1 on the right shift.

Anyhow, I like to get in some live play before going on the road just to get the old brain in gear if you know what I mean.

When I first wander in I see a dealer known to cut a good game, so I buy in for 10 units. The first three or four shoes are pretty much uneventful. The count never really moving one way or the other very much. At the same time the cards are falling my way to a point and I build up a stack of maybe 30 units.

The next shoe the count tanks about half way through so I wong out, getting back to claim my seat right at the shuffle. Now I'm back to close to my buy in of 10 units.

Next shoe. About half way in the count jumps to a +4 true. This is kind of rare on a 8 decker, but a glut of small cards sent it up in only two rounds. I go from 1x1 to 2x10 right now. Guess what happens? I get two stiffs against a 10. Now I got no choice, but the cards are with me and I pull a three and a four card 21, beating the dealers 20. Next round I get two more stiffs, again against a dealer face. I'm thinking "this could get ugly real quick". But the cards are with me again and I pull two more winners. With all the small cards comming out the count holds and I keep pushing out max bets.

This trend went on for 10 or more rounds. I know I lost one of those and I had one push, but I won all the rest. I cashed out a 110 unit win on that one shoe! How sweet it is.

Just had to tell somebody!! Nothing more than a simple twist Fate.

Feels nice, don't it? Makes up for all those times when you got a great count and get the stiffs that DON'T win and you lose your butt.

They say that fate has a way of evening out. I hope they're right because fate has been knocking me in the head, lately.

Hope to read a similiar post from you again soon.

    bigplayer: you can thank God

That you got 13 or 14 vs 10 rather than 15 or 16 vs 10...you would have stood rather than hit and probably lost the hands.

My post from earlier this year from another board. Sounds like we might play the same places!

"Made a trip to one of the usual places recently. It is not the best game in the country by any means, but if you look around you can find decent penetration which makes it playable.

    8D, DAS, RSA, DA2, S17

On this particular day I was able to find a Dealer cutting off only 1.5 decks (81% pen.). The table limits were such that I was able to spread 1-16 without having too much ROR based on my bankroll.

Ever have one of those days when the count is telling you to push it out and you do, only to get pounded hand after hand while everyone around you was making hand after hand? Sure, we all have, but this was not one of those days for me!

I never had to leave the table once because of a negative count during this whole session. It just got good from the start and then stayed there during the whole sessions. Most of it called for medium bets but some of it called for max bets too.

And talk about BJ's, at one point Dealer asked me if I was getting embarrassed because I was getting so many in one particular shoe (ya, right!). And during most of them I had 9 to 16 units on the felt.

Then came the relief dealer, and I'm thinking great here goes my 81% pen for 20 minutes. When the new dealer prepares the next shoe he proceeds to cut off only one deck! (87% - Yahoo!) Let the party continue!

After only 1 hour and 5 minutes I'm walking away up 194 units!

At casino number two I ended up playing only 55 minutes and was able to make a modest win of 14 units.

These are they days that we play for!

    Good Cards All,
    Pill"
