EmeraldCityBJ won a post of the month over at bj21.com for his theory article on basic strategy changes forced by table limits on the redoubles.
My local casino has a $500 table limit, so my max bet is 3x$125 since they allow play on a maximum of 3 boxes. Still, try betting 1x$5 to 3x$125 at regular blackjack and see how long you last. I just finished a 6 hour session at Spanish 21 doing that. The tap comes a lot later at Spanish 21 than at regular blackjack.
Good luck.

I know the answer is to play multiple boxes.
Ok but my next question would be, "why are you playing on a $5 table in the first place?" You have to contend with all the goddamned fleas and you don't get in enough hands per hour.

Civilians cannot be avoided where I currently play as there is only one table of Spanish 21 in the casino. So I have to play at odd hours to try to avoid them. The casino will not raise the minimum. Such is life.
