    westtex2121: Tracking Questions?

Last year I spent about 4 months in Central America on a working vacation. I found some playable count games for low stakes but I have never attempted to shuffle track. Some of the shuffles looked simple, but I really don’t know.

Are there any DVDs or internet videos of some of the trackable house shuffles?

I have Arnolds book on tracking but can’t cut within his parameters. I would like to incorporate some tracking with my count game.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated

    Trapper: Tracking DVD

The only DVD I know of that covers that kind of thing is Semyon Dukach's "Blackjack Science Advanced techniques". It is pricey (over $200) and is essentially just a fairly low quality video recording of his seminar. I'm no expert on the subject but I find it covers too many techniques including some that are probably only of historical value and may not be worth much in today's casino environment. It may meet your needs though. Try blackjackscience.com

Have you looked at George C's book "Shuffle Tracking for Beginners"? It covers cutoff tracking and is in the catalogue here.

How long did you practice Snyder's techniques before you decided your weren't up to the task?

    Thanks Trapper

What I was looking for is a DVD demonstrating some of the standard house shuffles and what they are called.

I know more practice would help with Snyder's book but I dont get to play enough to justify the work.

I would order George C's book if I thought I could incorporate it into my count game? It just drives me crazy when I am playing a good count game (5/6 s17 das su) and the big cards don't come out before the shuffle, or the count goes very negative at the beginning of the shoe. I know that there are paint at the first or the end of the shoe, but don't understand how to track them.

    Thanks

I will make it short. If you cannot cut within Arnold's parameters, why do you believe that any other material will help you. There isn't 100 ways to track, you have to be precise, precise and precise.

Ok GMan I will keep working at it. I just thought on the occasions when the count was very negative at the beginning or big positive behind the cutoff card there might be a simpler way to take advantage. Arnold talks a lot about the complex shuffles that Las Vegas casinos use I thought if I found a easier shuffle {if I knew what one looked like) in central America I would give it a try.

I will save my bankroll until I have the time to become precise.

    Thank for the advice

When shuffle tracking, it becomes very important to be the one in control of the cut card, so that this doesn't happen very much. One of the advantage of STing is that you can bet big off the top because that's where the cards are, and no one can think you're counting because the current count (in their eyes) doesn't justify the bet you're pushing out there.

I dont shuffle track, but it's obvious to me what a simple trackable shuffle looks like as opposed to a shuffle that puts my head in a tailspin. Shuffle tracking is difficult and too risky for my blood... a few mistakes can be devastating. I know it's a drag somtimes the good cards dont get dealt, but the good side of it is sometimes the bad cards dont get dealt either. I"d stick to card counting.
