    ES: Question for Katarina Walker

I just received your book and I am very impressed with it. When will you make software for Spanish 21 available? Will it allow playing the game, strategy and betting drills and simulation? Will it have a printed manual? Will a CD be available? I am looking forward to it.

Katarina Walker: Norm's CVData works for SP21 now

Thank you for your kind words.
I have heard that Norm from QFIT's CVData works for Spanish 21 now.
My software is not commercial, i.e. it has no GUI. I am more than happy to make it available for people, but it does not have the functionality that Norm's does. It is a simulator only. You cannot play a game with it, nor does it have drills. It doesn't allow for camouflage play. No printed manual. It was written for me, to give me all the data I needed for the book, plus my own playing obviously. Before I go to a casino, I run my betting strategy through the simmer to see what kind of win rate and SCORE I can get.
So I would recommend that you use CVData.

What language did you use to write your simulator?

Thanks for the quick response. I will use CV. I have no intention of using any count other than High-Low, but I will buy your more advanced books.

Does the index generator work as well? This would be excellent.

The CVData index generator supports oddball bonuses for composition-dependent indexes, but not general, total-dependent, indexes. Although you could probably use a few CD indexes to come up with the general index. That's something I could add. There hadn't been much demand in the past. I haven't yet read the recent version of Kat's book and will need to see what else is called for. It's possible there are other indexes not yet supported by the generator.

OK, I'll see what I can do. This is probably the only time I wish I learned a different count! So, how bad is this idea: I've tried to see what the differences are between I18 for HiLo and SP21, and guesstimate how much to add or subtract from the I18 figures I would use for UAPC. I know that is going to be off, but my guess is it would be a whole lot better than playing BS and ramping bets accordingly. The other thing is, TC starts off the top at -6 with UAPC, not -4 like HiLo. For betting, my guess would be +EV starts at -4. Lastly, how bad will I be hurt by not sidecounting 32 aces? What if I just side count A of spades, or all black aces? 8 is a lot more manageable than 32, and I'm used to 8 from the DD games. Thanks for any and all help, I know no one but me is probably going to benefit from this info.
