bj player: Photo please,Don
Don , long time ago, people asked you for having a photo of yours. You refused and gave the reason, to make it not too easy for the casinos to recognize you.
But the readers of your books and posts have a real demand. Can you post a photo from maybe 20 years ago on this board?
We will be very happy.
If you don?t post it now, can you promise, that we WILL have a photo in the future?
Thank you

Parker: More specifically . . .
Don is the one standing, toward the left - back-counting, of course.
Although it is questionable whether or not Don was considering jumping in on an H17 game.

Bettie: An odd request
Other than one particular person, I cannot think of any card-counting author who puts his photo on his books. Why in the world would they do that while still playing?

Seems like a pretty valid reason, wouldn't you think?

I look exactly the same now as I did then. :-) 6'4", 200 pounds, curly black hair, rippling muscles, mustache and beard. The photo would look too similar to my present-day appearance.

The casinos, too. :-)

Yes. I'll ask Viktor and Bettie to run it with my obituary. :-)

You're very welcome.

David Spence: A rare photo
I hope Don can forgive the indiscretion, but attached is a rare photo of him, playing in disguise as usual. A little known fact (until now) is that Don Schlesinger is a pseudonym for Don Rickles.

We have at least Slansky, Tamburin, and Thorp. There should be 10 others.

Norm Wattenberger: Re: An odd request
Just went through numerous books written by active card counters and none had pictures. Why would they?

I'll give you Henry, but I'm not sure he plays much blackjack anymore since he went public and started playing in televised tournaments. Sklansky plays poker primarily and Thorp no longer plays from my understanding. Poker and video poker authors are much more likely to put their faces on their books, but as Norm said, known card counters do not. It's suicide if they still want to play.
And, as per Don's wishes, you'll get a photo of him in bright, glorious color just as soon as I have an obituary to run with it!
Bettie (who is a petite redhead with a giant rack and a birthmark on her upper cheek - won't tell you which one, though!)

So you look like a stereotypical cardcounter then?

Don,
Would you mind posting your social security number and your mother's maiden name? :.)

Bettie: My favorite Bowie quote
As someone who owns no fewer than 47 David Bowie albums (not including all the vinyl that I no longer have the ability to play), I can say that my absolute fav Bowie song quote of all time is "Homosapiens have outgrown their use." from "Oh! You Pretty Things" on his "Hunky Dory" album.
You know, because I'm sure you all were interested.
