Bettie: Casting extras in the movie adaptation of MIT novel
From today's LVRJ:
It's in the cards for "21." And you can deal yourself in on the big-screen adaptation of the best-selling "Bringing Down the House: The Inside Story of Six MIT Students Who Took Vegas for Millions."
The card-counting drama, from Kevin Spacey's Trigger Street Productions, begins production early next month at the Hard Rock Hotel, Red Rock Resort and Planet Hollywood.
Local casting director Marilee Lear is looking for dealers from the aforementioned casinos to play themselves.
Overall, almost two dozen small roles will be cast, including two female Asian gamblers, ages 40 to 60.
Lear also needs about 150 extras per day for the multiweek shoot.

When is this movie scheduled to hit the big screen? What will be the impact on advantage play? Will a new wave of paranoia sweep over the pits as they begin to think that every twenty-something that goes to the movies will learn to count cards?

Bettie: Calling Jambi the Genie
I think Norm posted something awhile back about an expected release date, but since I can't see into the future, I can't answer your questions.
