    Greasy John: Does anyone know...

if the RFID that is supposedly being used at the Hard Rock, LV is on ALL their tables? Does a blackjack table using this technology look any different than an ordinary table? Thanks in advance. -GJ

The only difference is the button which the dealer presses after bets are placed. This button is located on the table top between the chip rack and shoe.I don't know about tables at Hard Rock. The casinos I play in Louisiana use RFID on ALL the BJ tables.

found at Mind Play tables, or can you have RFID chips in use (i.e. trackable)at a non-Mind Play table?.

Wynn Las Vegas (to name just one) uses RFID chips, but not Mindplay.

The RFID chip is just a locator, much like a bar code, that can relay information about its condition when passing a reader. The majority of RFID chips are passive.

Mindplay correlates playing to betting, and I'm sure utilizes the RFID tags in the chips.

tell me, if RFID chips are in use, is it detectable by the player? Are their any signs, buttons, or camera-scanner stuff? It would be kind of nice to know what to look for if an AP were considering entering a game with a +2 TC.

The only place where I have closely examined an RFID system is at the Wynn. There is nothing obvious at the tables. Each table has a computer touch-screen terminal, but this is used as much for the player tracking system as the RFID chips.

The only obvious indication is at the cashier's cage, where there is a rectangle embedded into the counter at each cashier station on which the chips are placed before cashing.

Only green chips and up have the RFID chip, so one could avoid the system by insisting on playing with large stacks of red chips, although this in itself would probably attract a bit of unwanted attention. :-)
