SOTSOG: Interesting Court Case Involving Structuring
Seems there is a scandal in Alabama Football. An Alum paid a high school football player $150,000 to come to Alabama to play.
The interesting thing was he made a series of 64 cash withdrawls under $10,000 each to avoid IRS reporting in order to make the bribes to the players and coaches.
Although not convicted in State Court for the original crime of bribing the players and coaches, he was convicted in Federal Court for conspiracy, crossing State lines to commit racketeering, and arranging bank withdrawls to cover up a crime (structuring).
United States of America v. Logan Young Jr
Be careful out there!
