    buzard: TRACKJACK ADVANTAGE %

is it correct to assume that when looking at the trackjack or similar things that list a game and its rules and player % advantage, that regardless of the number of decks, and the specific rules, the only thing of importance when choosing where to go is the player % advantage? The higher the advantage to being positive, if not positive already, the better the game, regardless of the conditions.

    No! Absolutely not.

No. The % EV quoted is the off-the-top BS edge for the player. It will rarely if ever be positive. But, for a counter, this value has relatively small importance when compared to the penetration of the game.

so are you just looking for the best penetration and nothing else, regardless of deck # used or DAS, etc.?

Of the many things to look for, pen is more important than most of all the others combined.

In general, I look for the best rules, and then for the best pen within that rules set. However, it is quite possible that an inferior rules set will have a great-pen game, in which case that becomes preferable.

Software such as CVCX or BJRM 2002 does all the work for you. Chapter 10 of BJA3 will help, too.
