    Steve: Cheju Island (Korea)

Could someone inform me of the table conditions for the games being offered on Cheju Island in South Korea? If possible, please include # of decks; penetration; S17/H17; DAS; Resplitting of Aces; and Surrender. Thanks, Steve

Most are 6D, some are 4D (Crowne Plaza).

Rules are S17, LS, ESv10, no DAS. There is a hole card. I believe you can re-split twice, and can resplit aces, but I'm not entirely sure.

    Pen is generally very good.

If you're head up, they may make you play 2 spots. Double table min may be required when playing 2 spots, but they may be flexible if you ask.

The casinos on Cheju are foreigners only -- a very sensible public policy. If you're Asian, they'll ask for an ID (90%+ of the players are Japanese). I have heard that a new casino in the Northeast, however, allows Koreans to play.

Jim Masters: Do they still have any cheating going on there

I heard of cheating going on there, this was years ago maybe 10.

I understand that the dealer would push a 5 or a 4 up in the shoe and hold it there untill the dealer needed it. like when you double down with a big bet. There was a curtain on the shoe so you couldn't see the card.

The majority of players in the casino are Japanese tourists. And with the way most Japanese gamblers play, I don't think they'd need to cheat to turn a profit.
