I think it's because most people don't hit their S18, the dealer wouldn't want one of them to accidentally hit something they wouldn't have normally hit and cause the player to have a worse hand or bust (on future hits). To them, it's an error to hit on S18. But damn, do I sure love pissing off a table full of ploppies when I "ruin" the flow and take the dealer's bust card!!

    Stoned,

So you really enjoy pissing off the whole table,,,,really????because the only way I would say I enjoyed it, and not really even then, would be if another AP friend was at the table and I knew he had my back, and I mean in every way!

Hmm....maybe I wrote that wrong. It's more like...if someone is telling me to do something that isn't right, I'd rather see them lose than win.

I am always mindful of the fact that casinos attract unstable people, many who have nothing to lose. They could be carrying who knows what under those three coats and four pairs of pants.

Ever had someone play behind you, who walks away swearing because you, say, hit on 12 versus the dealer's 2, and bust?
Hey pal, I didn't ask you play behind me!

Just this weekend a dealer was telling me and the other player at a DD table to "never hit 16 on a DD". So the poor guy stopped hitting his 16 and lost majority of the time.
